I have a g1 phone and I will tell you its a good device but where there the good there's always the bad the market place where all the apps are freezes up sometimes and my phone is already updated. plus half of the apps in the market place are useless there are very few good apps but most of them are useless and yet the makers of these apps wanna charge you forget about it I aint paying for a app thats no use to me are even if it was free I wouldnt download its just taking up memory in the phone ( Slowing it down )I can see if it was a donation app or something useful something that might be really interesting an fun. My opioion some of these developers should go check out the iphone market and then they should look at the android market and come up with some good ideas for the g1 phone market place. Its a powerful device it can handle alot I mean put it to the test with some really exclusive apps that will really be appealing to g1 phone users and let ppl see why its exclusive and if you show that then ppl will feel confident that the application will work and the will buy it. im not complaining because this is a new beginning for android but tmobile, google, htc, praised this phone saying it does so much because its android technology I mean you got great technology with some stupid applications I dont know I mean I know nothing perfect and you half to keep in mind at the end of the day its just a phone but the money you pay for the phone it should be doing things that you would be very impressed with and satified with. all im saying is better applications needs to come to the android market and specially if you half to pay for them they should automaticly work thats all im saying

Lots of good points, Tayaaa. But open-source development usually moves a bit slower than closed-source - like Apple. Still, I think money will make all the difference on both ends. Consumers will be more picky and developers will face stiffer competition. Wait a few months. I think the Market will be a very different environment.

The new software checks for app updates and notifies you when there is one. YES. They still must be manually updated one at a time though.
