Apple iPhone & IPod Touch OS 3.0 - What's New?

i know apple said the release for 3.0 OS is this summer but does anyone have an idea what month during the summer.i wish they would just release it in april or may i cant wait any longer.

People, let's remember that Apple says, it has "100 new features" coming. That means we haven't seen anything yet. And these are the features for the consumers. We could very well have "video", they might be working on it and don't want to make any promises, like with the cut and paste situation. And, they gave 1,000 new API's to developers which could allow them to use the camera for video as a 3rd party app. If all 3.0 had was what they showed, to me the phone would be perfect accept for two things and that's Video and a Unlocked U.S. Version of the iphone. I feel an unlocked version of the iphone will benefit Apple greatly. I don't know the logistics as to why they won't open up the market besides the contract with AT&T but, to me it'll be a smart thing to do. I have TMobile so, you understand. They have the iphone for TMobile overseas, so to me, that sucks major a**. Oh! how could I forget! Apple would also kill the "Jailbroken" community if it allowed what it can do, such as customization of the backgrounds and icon etc. Every other phone can, so Apple, why not! Like I said, who's to say that one of these 100 new features won't include such needed freedom. Now Apple, don't piss me off. I'm a Mac owner and I love the product line. It's a consumers world, make us happy.

I'm trying to see if anyone has a better understanding on the iPhone 3.0 updates! What I'm really trying to gather is if the push updates they are talking about will mean that email will be pushed as well, no matter the email provider somewhat like blackberrys service or do they just mean I'm terms of clients such as facebook, Myspace etc...

I like what I saw today. I'm just a major iPhone fan so all additions are good to me. Dont much care about video recording so no love loss there. Woulda liked a home page redesign or the option to redesign or choose different styles. Like the mms addition. As a parent its a great joy to take photos of your kids and mms em to the fam. I'm a bit perturbed by it being left out for the V1 iPhone which I just so happen to own...
