Another Internet speed test pitting four 3G phones against one another. The takeaway? 3G coverage is lousy in Oakland. Or ... Noah has no idea what he's doing.

Saturday, August 02, 2008i have the iphone 3g and with full 3g coverage i get about 700 to 800 kbits/sec

Tuesday, July 29, 2008That's not EV-DO Rev A speeds (more like Rev 0)! :) In Knoxville TN, my Dare gets 1223kbit/sec, 0.429s latency, and 7.127s d/l time for the 1meg test.

Thursday, July 24, 2008Hey Noah I have a question about what phone should I get. I was thinking about getting the Lg Voyager but then came up Instinct. I mostly like multimedia features. Can you go a video review of those two and also answer the question,MANY THANKS.

Thursday, July 24, 2008Noah, good stuff, good to hear Sprint can still EDGE(no pun..) out ATT's network. What's this I'm hearing about Sprint selling all their towers to another company, primarily for the upkeep of towers, but it sounds bad for future expansion. @V 2, did you mean Sprint dev.team working with the Instinct & Opera, or did you mean to say Sprint's getting the Dare?

Monday, July 21, 2008to Fernando Acevedo: The video from SD card rocks, the quality is excellent. Vivid colors and very sharp. This is one of the best functions on the phone. Its probably the opposite of the browser quality. (everyone I know with this phone is waiting for a promised, by dev team at sprint, opera support.) The issue is that it has to be MP4 the media software that comes with the phone will convert it for you, but it takes about the same time to convert as the length of the video. The size for a normal 120min movie is about 300 some k, so its not 2 bad.

Monday, July 21, 2008Hey Noah, great job with the speed test and the dare keeps impressing me with its video/camera functionality. I personally have the Treo 800w and it seems like its being overlooked by critics and reviewers alike. its a powerful device which can content with most high end phones. its good to see a comparison with the rest. I'm very happy with its performance and recommend it to anyone who likes an alternative to an all touch screen device. Hopefully we can see a Phonedog review of the Treo 800w soon. Thnks. Julio

Sunday, July 20, 2008Iphone sucks, and all the customer reviews online tell the truth, just search customer reviews on google and see how many are dispointed with the new icrap 3G. (INstinct RocKs

Sunday, July 20, 2008Hey Noah Just got a simple question for you about the Instinct… Sprit mentions on there site that you can see movies on the phone when side loaded in a Micro SD card and I was just wandering what the quality of this feature is and how it works. Fernando Puerto Rico

8/10/2008 6:17:51 AMfag ,who the hell has the prada phone? Name one of your friends who own that phone? No body has that hunk of shit. Omg the blank phone is like the other blank phone. Why not go all the way back and blame everybody for copying xerox for their original gui. Another child barfing the same old chit that his father told him. Go read a book, challenge your views and learn something beyond what your mommy and classmates tell you.

8/3/2008 12:33:53 AMI've had my Treo800w for 2 weeks and I LOVE it. I had a Treo700wx for 2 years before the 800w and I enjoyed that one also. I tried the Instinct for a week and it was like a toy. One friend has an Instinct, another has an IPhone. Racing to the same web site, 9 times out of 10, my 800w won the race! Their phones are for fun only.My 800w Takes Care of Mucho Business and provides hours of entertainment. I can sync my Calendar, favorites, notes, EMail, etc. I luv watching Live TV. My WiFi is Great.

Instinct vs iPhone 3G: Speed Test!

Instinct vs iPhone 3G: Speed Test!
A few months ago Sprint unleashed a media campaign for the Samsung Instinct that pit Instinct against Apple's iPhone in a series of head-to-head tests.  Now that both Instinct and the new iPhone 3G are out on the market and in the PhoneDog "labs" I figured I'd pit the two against one another in a few head-to-head tests of my own (UPDATE: Check out the video of the test, if you like). First up?  Speed.I ran a few speed tests on both...

Whats the Best Phone: Dare vs Voyager vs iPhone
yfz450lrd from YouTube asks: Would you say the dare is better than the iphone and the voyager? Thanks for your time, your reviews are awesome!Noah answers: Thanks for the email and the kind words - glad you like the reviews.I'm going to do a review comparing Dare to iPhone and Voyager.  It's hard to say which is "better" - it comes down to personal preferences and network coverage.  Dare and Voyager run on Verizon which in many...

iPhone 3G: Apple vs the World

iPhone 3G: Apple vs the World
Apple may have disappointed some phone geeks by leaving a few badly wanted features off of the new iPhone 3G, but in typical Apple fashion they're looking past the specific desires of a few in order to set their sights squarely on luring more of the masses into the Cult of iPhone.  Could Apple have added MMS messaging, stereo Bluetooth support, and a decent camera (with flash) to the new iPhone's redesign without sacrificing the grander...
