iPhone 3GS vs Motorola Droid: DogFight, Pt 1

Sorry, iPhone can't compare to Android OS. I'll give iPhone the advantage with the most apps, extremely good music/video player, & excellent touchscreen response. That's it. I'm sorry... It's just not a smartphone. It's an upscale/multi-media/feature phone with a lot of 3d party support. Windows Mobile phones are smartphones. BlackBerry phones from RIM are smartphones. WebOS Palm phones are smartphones. Android phones are smartphones. They can run more than one app at a time, and that to me, after mobile computing features, 3d party app support, productivity features, and etc. are the qualities that make a smartphone a smartphone. iPhone is superior in many respects. I'm not saying iPhone "blows," or "sucks" or that Android is "better" in anyway. I'm saying that while it's got so many amazingly competitive features, the lack of file management, lack of openness within the OS, lack of multi-tasking, and lack of true customizing features (save for jailbreaking or rearranging your app icons), the iPhone simply isn't a smartphone. It's Apple claiming it to be, and it's, well, just not! Lo siento. Now, I await to be hated on, so round 1, fight!

you need to go back and have the Iphone camera test against the Droid camera.....YES, it is slow on factory default because it takes a few longer to process 5MP AND the factory default settings are also sent to superfine. In a lot of ways, this will be great for vacation spots, BUT in every day stuff, you can back off on quality.

If you change the settings to 3MP (or even 2), Normal quality and even shut off auto focus, it will process much faster. Not sure if as fast as iphone, but the delay between the 5MP and the 3MP is significant! (and if the Iphone is a 3MP then there should be a definite rematch!) thanks

I have a Verizon Blitz. It's okay but the DROID looks amazing. I want it SO bad. But I still got 2 years til my upgrade. And the Droid wont be on my list of choices. HaHa! Thanks for the review and DogFight phonedog! You've got me hooked

What megapixel camera does the iPhone 3G have? I know the 3GS has a 3.2 megapixel camera and since the 3G is an earlier model that it might have a worse camera. Does anyone know the answer to my question?

In the video the screen on the droid wobbles a lot but on mine there's no wobble at all its really solid. I'm thinking its just bad luck if yours wobbles.

if the phone camera takes long that is good cause if it takes a pic fast it might make it all blurry
