All about Closely Related StuffTuesday, May 13, 2008this is a good phone but i would reccomend the enV (2) Tuesday, May 13, 2008i would pick the voyager if money wasnt an option but i like the glyde its cool and 100 bucks cheaper...im gettin verizon in a week and im most likely going to get the glyde because its less money Monday, May 12, 2008Where are the speakers on the phone? Is the earpiece the speaker? Friday, May 09, 2008If you had to choose between the Voyager and the Glyde which would you pick? 5/17/2008 2:50:25 PMtis phone SUX!!! 5/17/2008 1:30:18 PMI am not a idiot. The touch screen on the Glyde is a joke and is much harder to use vs the Voyager. Heck even the iphones touch screen is better then the Glydes and remember I hate the iphone. If your calling the keyboard on the Glyde big then your the idiot because even other owners of this phone admit just how small the keyboard really is. 5/17/2008 12:29:44 PMthis phone is nice i have the samsung u740 now and i had the orginally 9800 the first env(from like 04 i think),this phone is nice 5/17/2008 11:14:39 AMi dont get why the voyagers so good. i mean its good its really good but its not that good. this phone is really nice 5/17/2008 11:13:25 AMthe keypad is small but its really easy to press it. i dont know i guess i cant really make you understand it the way i do cuz youve never felt it but its really easy. no problem at all 5/17/2008 11:12:02 AMhow is it like an iphone. just because its a touch it doesnt mean its like an iphone 5/17/2008 10:05:52 AMHow is battery life?! 5/16/2008 7:13:53 PMSOMEBODY SAY WANNABE IPHONE lol but its still kinda cool 5/16/2008 4:57:03 PMexcuse me but is they key board small and does it scratch very easily 5/16/2008 6:03:22 AMw w w. Share your tricks and tips. 5/16/2008 12:32:56 AMno it doesn't close the programs it opens them up vertically with a dial pad keyboard. 5/16/2008 12:31:49 AMIf your pushing this screen harder then the voyagers screen you are an idiot. This screen is heat sensitive the voyager is one of the few devices that is actually touch sensitive thats why when you push things the screen bends in. And the keyboard is anything but small on the glyde 5/15/2008 10:44:22 PMhow is it a wannabe voyager...its from the same network lol..its just a verizon phone thts smaller than the voyager and less expensive...its perfect for me becuase i love touch screen but the voyager is too expensive so i got this phone and its amazing 5/15/2008 10:42:55 PMno i dont think it closes your programs only if u press the home button it will 5/14/2008 8:12:30 PMThe Samsung Glyde is just a wannabe Voyager. The glyde is way to small and it lacks features already found on the Voyager. The touch screen on the glyde is way harder to use vs the Voyager because you have to push the touch screen way harder before you get a response thats a joke. The keyboard is way to small. 5/14/2008 4:22:21 PMif you close the keyboard, does it close your programs? for example.. lets say i was typing a text message and sombody comes up from behind me and quick closes it as a joke. would it close out of that message or just flip the screen vertically?
also, does it pick up wifi internet? 5/13/2008 11:59:24 PMdo you need special software to sync with computer? does it work on macs? 5/13/2008 3:13:25 PMdo u need to have internet to find out the movies? 5/12/2008 5:49:20 PMFor me, $250. 5/12/2008 4:34:43 PMwhat are you new? of course it does... 5/12/2008 2:01:00 PMdoes this phone pay MP3 ringtones? 5/12/2008 10:27:23 AMhow much is it? 5/12/2008 12:57:47 AMyour just mad bc you bought the iphone before you realised that there were better phones 5/11/2008 11:53:43 PMis that limelight by rush in your music?? 5/11/2008 8:44:29 PMGet your facts straight, buddy, the Glyde is based on the Samsung F700, a phone that was both designed and released before the iPhone. Samsung Glyde Verizon (SCH-U940) - Review Pt 2Hands-on and in depth with the new Samsung Glyde for Verizon. In this part: VCAST, Camera, GPS/VZ Navigator, and Web Browsing.Samsung Glyde (Verizon) unboxing and hands-onUnboxing and quick overview of this cool little VCAST messaging phone. Touchscreen and QWERTY. And it's so small!Samsung Glyde SCH-U940 Verizon full video review Pt 1Hands-on and in depth with the new Samsung Glyde for Verizon. Touch screen, QWERTY, VCAST ... it's a crazy new phone. Part one looks at the menu system, touchscreen, QWERTY, and messaging. Look for Part 2 of the review where I will review the Web, VCAST, VZ Navigator, and more!Samsung Glyde in-depth review - At a GlanceWhat’s Good: Touchscreen and Full QWERTY Keyboard in Compact Body; Clean Menus and “Croix” User Interface; 2MP Camera with Autofocus and Flash; GPS with VZ Navigator; Full HTML Browser; Good Sound Quality What’s Not Good: Touchscreen Can Be Difficult to Use, Especially Around Edges and Using Web Browser; Slightly Thick Profile; No D-Pad Bottom Line: Samsung shrunk the F700 down to a cool, compact size in making the Glyde. The slide-out QWERTY board is handy and surprisingly comfortable...Glyde: Verizon announces Samsung Glyde VCAST messaging phoneOne whole day earlier than I expected, Verizon Wireless dropped the Samsung Glyde upon us. This touchscreen and QWERTY-board handset packs a boatload of features into a relatively small Blue body that's a slightly shrunken down take on Sammy's F700 Ultra Smart. Glyde gives you a 2.8" touchscreen with haptic feedback, side-sliding QWERTY, 2MP camera with auto-focus, flash, and video capture, GPS with VZ Navigator (location based services), and full HTML browser. Wait,...Samsung Glyde in-depth review - IntroductionEver since Samsung debuted the “Ultra Smart” F700 more than one year ago, phone geeks in the US have been waiting for a US carrier to pick it up. The F700’s combination of a full touch screen, Samsung’s “Croix” user interface, and a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard gave it instant “Super Phone” status in the tech world. Though it’s been a long wait, Verizon and Samsung have brought the F700 to the States at long last in the U940 “Glyde,” But there’s a twist: Samsung literally...Samsung Glyde in-depth review - Design & FeaturesWhen I first held Glyde I was really taken with how small it felt. Granted it’s fairly thick, but it really felt much more like a “regular phone” than a messaging phone with a sliding — that is, “glyding” — keyboard hidden under its display. Glyde’s rounded corners, deep blue glossy plastic body, and chromed plastic accents give it a fun-meets-high tech look, and its size makes it easy to hold and use with either one hand on the touchscreen or both thumbs on the keyboard....Samsung Glyde in-depth review - Usability & PerformanceI tested Glyde on Verizon Wireless’ network in the San Francisco Bay Area and was impressed with its quality of sound during voice calls. Signal strength was on par with other recent Verizon handsets I’ve tested, and calls sounded good with minimal hiss and static. The built-in stereo speakers work well for hands-free calling, and also were handy for watching and listening to video clips. Bluetooth worked well with mono and stereo headsets, and pairing was easy and...Samsung Glyde in-depth review - ConclusionGlyde’s a cool little phone, even if it’s not really all that little. Between Glyde, Voyager, Alias, and enV2, Verizon now has four non-smartphones with QWERTY boards in its line up. That speaks volumes about how people use their phones these days - texting (and Emailing and Web surfing) is fast becoming as important to people as voice calling. Not everyone wants the power and complexity of a true smartphone, but more and more people want the ease-of-use of a QWERTY... |
