C'mon Noah, How about a more in-depth review of the Onmia? The Storm isn't the VZ story of the year unless you count full panic firmware upgrades, it's the Omnia and I want one so I can throw out my Glyde out the freakin' window.

How would you personally compare the Omnia to the Dare? Is the Windows Mobile and the rotatable screen worth the extra 120$?

Okay so I got this phone this last sunday and took it back on monday. The problems that I had with it was alot of lage, small touch screen, the text messenger stoped working on it in 2 hours, it couldnt find the 8gb that it was suppose to have. So plus it was released on friday and I was the first person to bye it at this store and that was on sunday, But anyways I took it back to them and they had no idea what was wroung with it, they think windows 6.1 wasnt working right. I have big fingers so txt is very hard for me. I desided to order the Blackberry Storm, it has a bigger screen and it just works alot better for me, Plus they are getting the bugs fixed before they ship and if anyone is wondering I hear thourgh the grape vine that they will be shipped at the end of this week to the people that have ordered them online. So I should see mine on monday or tuesday. But this phone isnt for me but as Hoah has said try it out before you buy it, it will help you out alot.

Noah, any word on the GPS being locked or unlocked e.g the Storm is unlocked and does not require VZNav to use... say Yahoo Maps?

I can't figure out what to do!!! I am on Sprint, and currently am drooling over the HTC Touch PRO, but I know that Verizon has a good network, but they cripple their phones. It's good to know that they left the majority of the hardware specs intact. Verizon bastardized the HTC Touch PRO on their network (they don't even call it the touch pro, and it's not listed on Verizon's network when you go to HTC's website), and that's the phone that I've been looking at getting. I think once I take advantage of the 30 day test period for phones on Sprint, and see how the reception is with the Sprint Touch PRO, I'll know whether or not I want to switch to Verizon for the OMNIA (or if I have to save money, the DARE), or stay with Sprint's savior phone.

I'll never understand why companies insist on using proprietary garbage for their devices. You would think that the prospect of letting the user implement their own cabling solution would contribute more to sales than selling a device with a device-specific cable. Then again, i'm not a greedy company CEO, so what do I know? :-/

I must say, I bought the storm on Friday (11-21)... Friday I thought it was impressive and kinda cool, by Sat I was ready to bring it back. too many options and it initially felt like too many steps just to do something simple. By Sunday I was throwing in the garbage. then Monday....I was in love!... I figured it all out and made all the appropriate changes to the default settings, and now im off and running! There is a big learning curve with this device and most will either love it or hate it! If you hate it, give it a few days or even 2 weeks. you generally have 30 days, so don't jump out just yet. If you are not comp savy, you can still find it very easy to customize the unit for you. my vote is a YES on the blackberry Storm! I love it! Rob~ (and no...it's not an IPHONE, but I hate att in our area and would never downgrade my cellular service just for a cooler phone, service in most important then coolness next!)

I noticed some of you guys had questions about the data plans for smartphones vs blackberry devices. Basically now, unless you need to have emailed pushed from a business enterprise server you don't need to pay for the 44.99 data package. 29.99 is now availible for pop3 email use and unlimited internet for most windows mobile devices and the centro. And yes, you have to have a data package w/ a windows mobile or blackberry device. TRazor88 you need to ask yourself do i need email pushed to my device and do I need window's mobile? The dare is still just brew based phone w/ a cool touch that can do html browsing. The omnia is going to give a lot more, but it will aslo come with a heftier pricetag.
