T-Mobile Dogfight! G1 vs BlackBerry Curve 8900

i love blackberry!

I love my G1 more everyday. I just got my 1.5 (cupcake) ota update now I can take video and have stereo bluetooth. I love knowing that the g1 will keep geting updated you cant say that with other phones..so now i will get excited about 2.0

I just purchased the g1. I def had a hard time deciding between the two, but ultimately i had to go with the phone thats best for me aside from the aesthetics. Although the bb looks better, there is another world to be discovered while using the g1. The market is definitely whats happenin. I your definitely getting what you paid for. Free ringtone and background apps, it even has a period tracker app lol to track when ur period will come next and ur most fertile days. What did it for me, well ima bartender and it has an app with 10001 drink recipes. Alot of bartenders use index cards to remember drinks they dont know off top, but this app aleviates alll of the extra, flipping through cards and so on. So ultimately i feel as though blackberry is more of a business phone while the g1 can be used for business and everything else. To me it is the ultimate phone aside form the iphone. Def is one to compare to an iphone, If u want an iphone but cant get it G1 is second best hands down. I love it!!

the g1 is horrible i cant txt w/ that big part with the trak ball in the way the 8900 is so much easyer to txt i woulid consider the 8900

idk why these phones were compared, the g1 in my opinion is the best phone on the market hands down, but the 8900 isnt bad but no g1 sorry

Curve 8900 is the best, the G1 might have many neat things, but boy is it ugly. ;P

I tested both out at a T-mobile store. The G1 has limitless access to high bandwidth sites like YouTube. The 8900 warns the user to be on an unlimited data plan. The G1 is a 3G phone, while the 8900 uses Edge Networks for internet. The G1 can enter the Wells Fargo Banking website, while the 8900 is restricted from entering it because the browser is incapable of handling the site. Neither phone can show flash videos from the ESPN.com website. All of the T-mobile sales reps are using the Curve and have used the G1 in the past. They say the G1 battery dies fast, while the 8900 lasts longer.

the battery of my curve 8900 lasts only for a day although i have the minimul use... is something wrong with it???

I live in a 3G city and have both the G1 and the 8900. The 8900 is too slow even with the Bolt browser. The G1 isn't perfect, but it is much better than the G1.

How can you like the 8900? I hate mine. Can't wait for my contract to run up. The phone is just too slow. GL trying to make apps for it. Worst purchas ever.

Noah, this should be filed under religion ... No 3G, smaller screen, no touch screen, not as user friendly, and you're a BB fanboy? Gimmie a freakin' break. I tried a BB and couldn't stand it. I now own a (rooted) G1 and with the open source Android system, it's a great phone and keeps getting better all the time with all the great applications coming on line every day. If you haven't used a G1, you don't know what you are missing. Android OS is going to dominate within the next few years.

Curve (8900) is excellent. I have been using for 3 months.

whatever! if the G1 was a sexier phone it would have blown everything else out of the water! the only reason people hate on it is because its ugly it no way these boring blackberrys are more exciting that the G1 only reason people pics blackberry is because of the name and its one of those (cool) phones to have
