T-Mobile G1 Review: Phone and Ringtones

Can you get a ringtone from, let's just say, Zedge and then download it onto the G1? Or will it deny the ringtone?

I've had a G1 since October and I'm sorry I got it. Tmobile lied about 3g service coming to my area and it appears that google has all but forgotten about the G1. The available apps are poor at best. I have friends with the Iphone and it blows the G1 away, runs smoother has better apps available. Even google apps such as Streetview run better on the Iphone.

I like the G1 so far but I just got it like 5 days ago but wat I have noticed is the battery isn't good @ all. I find my self carrying my usb 2 wrk, an the charger everywhere else. I have 2 charge it like 3 times a day fully lol not happy bout that @ all

I bought the android g1 and make the most of it as i use google for all mail calender and contacts. I cant say anything bad about it....happy customer. Vinny

i have the choice of the t mobile shadow,g1,pearl 8220, or behold and i dont know what i should get! im coming from a sidekick lx and i LOVED THAT KEYBOARD!!!

I made the mistake of giving up on my G1 and getting the touch pro.With all the short comings of the G1 hardware I find myself lost without it. I thought I needed a better camera and video capture more than I needed Android...wrong. I'm no stranger to winmo devices so it's not that i did not know what to expect underneath the touch flow , It's that I thought the touch flo would cover up winmo more than it does. The touch screen on the Touch Pro Falls short of the mark, way short compared to the G1.Anrdoid is just easier and more friendly. Don't get me wrong the Touch Pro is a sexier device hands down and with the qwerty board as good as it is it would appear to be the total package for some just not for me.The web browser on the G1 is fantastic along with the 3G here in brooklyn the only time I used wifi was when I was in my basement. I want my G1 back but this time around maybe on a 12 month contract. Now where did i put that RMA#.

I THINK THE TECHNOLOGY IN THE PHONE IS OKAY BUT I THINK THAT TMOBILE / GOOGLE, RUSHED HTC TO MAKE THE PHONE AND HTC PROBLEY DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO THINK OF A DESIGN FOR IT SO THEY JUST RUSHED AND PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER AND SAY OH ITS NOT ABOUT THE DESIGN ITS ABOUT WHAT THE PHONE CAN DO AND WHAT IT CAN OFFER TO THE CUSTOMER LOL THE TMOBILE G1 PHONE HAD ALOT TO OFFER AND {YES HTC} PPL NOT ONLY LOOK AT THE TECHNOLOGY IN THE PHONE BUT THEY LOOK AT THE LOOKS OF THE PHONE FOR EXAMPLE THE BLACKBRRY STORM IS A GORGEOUS PHONE THAT VERIZON HAS. ALL THE OTHER CARRIERS 3G PHONES IS NICER AND THERE PHONES DOES SO MUCH BUT WHEN IT COMES TO TMOBILE I DONT KNOW MAYBE THEY FEEL LIKE THEY DONT NEED A HOT 3G PHONE BECAUSE THEY GOT THE BEST PLANS I DONT KNOW BUT TMOBILE IS SO FAR BEHIND IN TECHONLOGY WITH THERE PHONES. I JUST WENT INTO A TMOBILE STORE 2DAYS AGO THEY STILL HAVE THE TMOBILE WING FOR $449.00 SMH AND YOU KNOW WHY THE PRICE IS SO HIGH?? BECAUSE ITS WINDOWS MOBILE AND REMIND YOU ITS THE OLDER WINDOWS VERSION 6.0. AND 6.1 BEEN OUT FOR AWHILE ON THE NEWER HTC PHONES. ALSO CHECK THIS OUT I ALSO THINK THAT HTC MIGHT BE LOSING THE WINDOWS MOBILE CONTRACT BECAUSE THE NEW SAMSUNG BEHOLD IS RUMOR TO BE RUNNING ON WINDOWS MOBILE I DONT KNOW IF IT TRUE OR NOT BUT LETS GET BACK TO THE TMOBILE G1 LOL ANOTHER QUESTION IS WHY IS EVERYONE BUYING THE BRONZE G1 MORE THEN THE BLACK G1? WELL I HELD BOTH HANDSETS AND I WILL TELL YOU THAT THE BLACK ONE LOOKS CHEAP AND ITS ALIL LIGHTER THEN THE BRONZE I THINK WHAT MAKES THE BRONZE ALIL HEAVER IS THE PAINT JOB BECAUSE THE BRONZE HAS A FINISH TOUCH ON IT AND ITS 1% MORE ATTRACTIVE. YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS FOR ME JUST TO GET A TMOBILE G1 BRONZE PHONE?? I LIVE IN CONN I HAD TO CALL EVERY MANHATTAN TMOBILE STORE AND EACH ONE OF THEM SAID THEY HAD ONLY BLACK AND THAT THE BRONZE WAS SOLD OUT!!! AND THAT THEY WONT GET ANY MORE TILL NOV 10 OF BROZN SMH I SAID TO THE REP WHAT??? SO I ONLY CAN GET BLACK? THEY SAID YEP AND THAT IT. THE REP SAID THAT THE G1 PHONE WASENT A BIG SELL OUT LIKE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE SO I LITERALLY HAD TO CALL THE QUEENS STORE AND THEY HAD BRONZE WITH NO PROBLEM SO I WENT THERE FROM CONN AND GOT IT. BUT WHAT MAKES IT BAD IS THAT CONN DOESNT HAVE 3G ONE OF THE RICHEST STATES IN THE WORLD DOESNT HAVE 3G NETWORK ARE 3G PHONE TMOBILE YOU GOTTA STEP YOUR GAME UP BECAUSE ALOT OF PPL IN CONN ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR 3G SERVICE RIGHT NOW AND THIS PLACE IS WHERE ALOT OF MONEY IS. BUT HEY WHAT IM SAYING IS MY OPIOIONS AND WHAT I PERSONALLY WENT THRU TO GET THE BRONZE G1 PHONE I JUST HOPE THE TMOBILE G2 DOESNT LOOK LIKE THE G1 AND HAVE MORE FEATS THEN THE G1 BECAUSE IF IT STILL LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE G1 TMOBILE IS IN BIG TROUBLE BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO WALK AROUND WITH A BIG BULKY UGLEY PHONE AND ALSO THEY NEED TO HAVE THERE NEXT G2 PHONE FULL TOUCH NO QWARTY PAD THATS GETTING PLAYED OUT

hey i just loaded the ringdroid and it doesnt let me cust my ring tones on the sd card can some body help plz..all it say is sorry the application ringdroid (process com.ringdroid ) has stopprd unexpectedly plz try again..do u guys have this problem...

Ok...so I got my phone and came to realize it does not have gps much less turn by turn audio. Very disappointed. Then I went to try to delete one of the calls from my history and my only option was to wipe out my history. Any suggestions for either of these items?

uh, and one more thing... calling yourself calls your voicemail, so thats why when you tried to voice dial, it kept trying to dial voicemail.
