Sunday, November 30, 2008While the sidekick is a decent phone it still lacks in what my significantly older and much cheaper phone had. 1: I can't use my own custom ringtones anymore. They have it set up with this phone that you HAVE to pay for the data service JUST to download a different ringtone, because I assure you...the default ringtones suck ass. 2: On my older phone I could set 5 different alarms. With the sidekick I can only set 1 by default unless I download some stupid alarm add-on which I also need the data service for. 3: For some reason key guard filters our my text message alert sounds. I'm not sure if its like that for anyone else, but I checked the volume and its all the way up, yet I still hear no sound. This wouldn't be an issue if I could turn key guard OFF. But the damn phone doesn't give that option. I don't really know...part of me feels like I wasted my money, but my old phone is wrecked.

Thursday, September 18, 2008Wow, when did this become Phone Reviewer Death Match? I like the vid, Ryan. You seem comfortable in front of the cam, and you have a good voice for it. There's no way I could do it that well. BTW, Sidekicks have the greatest keyboard I have ever used. I think a lot of people bash the phone because it's been known as a young phone. That's how it's marketed. They could repackage it as *the* device for business execs and it would succeed in that context. New icons, wallpaper... Well, a new image, and I think people would respond differently. It's good for so much more than texting.

11/11/2008 4:33:18 PMRabbid Squirel, you really need to shut the fuck up. (: It doesn't matter what he looks like, and his review was perfectly fine. I'm so sick of you dumbasses judging people based on their looks or their voices or stupid shit like that. And Jake Johnson kind of pisses me off two. You two need to have your balls drop and grow the fuck up. Seriously. I liked your review, Ryan. Phonedog is definantly my favorite.
hoobershnooger
11/11/2008 1:52:30 PMit depends. the SK2008 has a better screen, it has more room and the keyboard is slightly easier to use. but some people prefer a sliding mechanism rather than a swivel because they don't trust the swivel, and they think it might fly off.

Sidekick: Cut and paste on your T-Mobile Sidekick

Tips & tricks: Sidekick: Cut and paste on your T-Mobile Sidekick

Do you ever want to select text and do things with it like you do one your computer? To highlight text on a sidekick, hold shift and use the trackball or d-pad to select text. Then, you can use all the same codes you use on your computer to edit text on your sidekick. for example, press menu (3 lines) and C at the same time to copy, or v to paste. Even Z to undo! its great!

Re: I need some Sidekick help.

I would go with the 08 if i were you. The keyboard difference isnt that major between the 08 and the LX, and the 08 has a better camera and it has video. Now you can get the LX with video, but you would have to get it OTA, and the quality isnt that good at all. Plus the whole customizable shells is good, if you dont like the ones that come with the 08, a lime green, and a jet black

Samsung Gravity or Tmobile Sidekick!??!?!?!

oooookkkkk i really need help!!! I dont know if i should get the Samsung Gravity! Tmobile Sidekick looks really cool and all it has full qwerty keyboard and music and stuff, BUT its really expensive. That goes for all sidekicks but the Sidekick 08 is like 150! Now the samsung gravity has full qwerty it has voice dialing it has music, but its really not that cool looking. i like the lime one but stiill help me out! any suggestions?

I need some Sidekick help.

Which should I get...the '08, LX, or the iD?

Noah, I need some Sidekick advice...

For Christmas, I am going to get a Sidekick. Now, should I get the '08, the LX, or the iD? I know the iD doesnt have a camera but i like backlit buttons. Are the '08 or the LX keyboards backlit?

Re: im gonna go with the sidekick

Hey jaymoney!  You have the same dispute I did. I'm going with the Sidekick '08 too. I saw the G1 in person and it was the biggest and heaviest phone I have ever encountered.

im gonna go with the sidekick

I think im just going to get the sk 08 thats the phone i originaly wanted and i love the shells and i bet theres gonna be another android phone comein out soon so i will wait 4 that i hope they make it look better :)

my 2 cents

Hi, JayMoney. I know you directed this towards Noah, but considering the holiday, I figured it wouldn't hurt if I chimed in. I was a sidekick user for a while. I prefer SKIII over the ones I've tried: SKII, III, LX, 2008, and a slide. SKIII was my favorite SK, mainly because i like those plastic bubble keys. The keyboard on the G1 is not as good as an SK keyboard, in my opinion. As far as the operating system, there's no question in my mind......

sidekick 2008 or G1

Hey Noah im 13 and i wanted 2 know if i should get the sidekick 2008 or the G1 i like the G1 but it seems like a phone 4 a bussines man and its kinda big ive always wanted a sidekick and the only 1 ive had is the sidekick 2 all i realy do is text......what should i do

    Mini-Review: Nokia Email Beta

Thanks to the folks at Nokia, I've got a re-loan of the E71 smartphone, one of my favorite releases of 2008.  A Symbian S60 device, the E71 has an Email client as part of its pre-loaded Messaging application, and while it can't handle HTML mail and isn't the prettiest thing to look at, it basically works just fine. However, Nokia just announced the live Beta of their new Nokia Email service for select devices - including the E71.  So I...

Two years later and ThinkGeeks bluetooth handset still uncontested

    Best bluetooth design ever?

I've searched far and wide over the last two years, but found no bluetooth device that can stand up to ThinkGeek's revolutionary design from '06. In the shadow of its sinewy curves and the glare of its glistening semi-reflective surface, all competitors appear painfully unimaginative and inadequate. Can this subtle beauty ever be matched... or dare I say, toppled? Undeniably, a classic. I'm also a fan of their BluAlert Bluetooth Bracelet. I...
