Video: enV2 vs Glyde - Verizon Messaging PhonesEveryone's asking: enV2 or Glyde? Which is better? Noah gives you his pick.
Tuesday, July 29, 2008I think Glyde is a better choice. First, eV2 looks LIKE A CALCULATOR. I hated the front design, but I have to admit the inner quality is pretty nice. I have to go with the glyde though. It's easier to handle and so far, mine dind't call anyone by itself. The bad part is the touch screen isn't exactly accurate, but it took me only 30 sec. to get used to it. Glyde also has better internet browsing. I've also heard that glyde "lags" when trying to get to the menu bar. Well, eV2 lags much more when you have alot of memory in there. Lastly, if you're a "phone decorator" don't get the Glyde, get the eV2. I don't exactly have a problem with phone decorating, so my final decision is the Glyde. I'm satisfied with the Glyde, and I would definately pay $50 more to get it. eV2, if you want a calculator and big buttons, go for it. Tuesday, July 29, 2008I hope to get the glyde soon, but not totaly convinced yet, though it looks cool Monday, July 14, 2008hey this is jon just wanted to no which phone should i get glyde or lg dare plese respond Saturday, July 12, 2008It's all down to a personal preferance. I dislike both of these phones. Two of my best friends, one with an enV2, one with a Glyde, both love them, have nothing wrong with them. I, myself, have an Alias, and honestly, it's the sweetest phone ever :P. But yeah, it all comes down to what you really want/need in a phone. I've used my friend's Glyde often, and the touchscreen can be fairly annoying when it comes to simple things (getting to your text message inbox, for example.) Just trying to help any of you out who are really stuck between phones. Tuesday, July 08, 2008well i got the env2 on may 14th. the first one went back on may 23rd. the 2nd one went back on my june 6th, and the 3rd one on june 23rd!!!! now my fourth is doing freaky stuff. after i called and fussed with verizon for 3 hrs on the phone i am getting the glyde. i like it better and i have messed wit my friends glyde and it actually sounds decent dont let the fact that it dont have the two speakers fool you. this phone rocks so i will be glydin 2day :)
ok now back to the Env2. these were my problems i dont know if this will help or not. BTW i was the first person in america to ever have a issue with this phone or so does verizon and LG, lol i had to get on the phone with LG and tell them their poduct wasnt worth it.
ok 1st phone= lost memory card (we replaced it 3 times before i replaced the phone), dropped calls like crazy, finally overheated and crashed.
2nd phone= overheated again and the screen went out
3rd phone= lost memory again, erased my pictures, music and everything off of my card like it wanted to format it. and it lost all of my contacts and my phone number so i had to reactivate the phone. and if i hit the * key it would freeze up, and if i plugged it up on the charger it would restart by itself.
3rd phone = restarts when it wants to, it will send a msg 5 times in a row, never heard of this but this phone somehow surprises me everytime :o ok i can have 4 bars and i will get on the phone and stand in the same spot and it will loose all the bars and drop the call with in 2 mins. my screen cuts out, and the key pad lights up when it wants to like there is a short. we call it the disco phone!!!
i am so through with LG, i had a Samsung Alias before this phone and the only thing that i had go wrong with it was it hurt my hands, i had the phone for over 1 yr and i just wanted to upgrade and i like the env2 because my dad has a orange env, well never again LG
SO 2 thumbs up for GLYDE Wednesday, June 18, 2008I have no idea what some of these comments are based on both about the Glyde and ALSO about the ENV2. I have had both phones. I had the ENV2 for 1 month and I returned it in favor of a glyde. I would say at this point that they are very close in terms of quality. However, the ENV2 does seem to have better sound. I have also noticed that the ENV2 MAY have SLIGHTLY better reception. This is probably because you are not supposed to hold the bottom of the Glyde in your hand because of the internal antenna. After I stopped doing that it seems fine. Voice dialing is also better on the ENV2. It has a dedicated button on the side. It is still annoying though and verifies the name on both phones most of the time. Presently it also seems like the ENV2 may have slightly longer battery life, but that could just be because I partially charged the glyde a couple of times. At first, the GLyde battery was better. And now, I will explain why I chose the glyde and I am not returning it for another ENV2. The ENV2 has large buttons which I like, but the front screen is WAY TOO SMALL. You can see an incoming number, but forget about using the front display to scroll through contacts. FLip it open to do anything significant. Second, I don't know why some people think that the GLYDE is "bulkier" and similar to the old ENV. That is not correct. The Glyde definitely feels smaller and more ergonomically correct in the hand. The ENV2 may be slightly thinner but it is much wider than the Glyde making it feel like a square phone almost. I felt it was also more difficult to talk on the ENV2 because of how short the thing is. It doesnt stretch from your ear to your mouth. The Glyde isnt very long either but it is more bar shaped making it feel more like a normal phone when trying to balance it ont he shoulder and talk with no hands. My hands are average sized and I also like the Glyde keyboard much more. It is laid out better and you also have the added touch buttons. The slide to open design of the GLyde is also better than the ENV2 in my opinion. The sound on the ENV2 is better because of the front speakers but I dont care about using my phone as a boombox. The flip open style isnt worth it. The small front display and lack of a flash also are not good. When I bought the ENV I was also not given a phone to USB adapter cable for syncing music and I got one with the Glyde in the box. Wednesday, June 18, 2008I have the Glyde, I HATE the Glyde and will return it to the store TOMORROW aaaaghhhhh Monday, June 16, 2008HEY Noah you should make video of glydy vs voyager please make it i think tha the glyde is way better than the env2 the env2 looks like a calculator. Tuesday, June 10, 2008The EnV2 has been a great texting tool. I like how it functions and the sound is exceptional. From what I understand, get the glide if you are bigger into the 'phone internet browsing', but aren't afraid to scratch up your phone. But if you wanna save like $70, have a better keyboard, and have a more rugged phone, get the EnV2. Sunday, June 08, 2008dude... can plz do like a one minute video that says if the glyde does message readout like enV2... PLZ!!! Sunday, June 08, 2008w8! dont everybody assume the glyde's camera is better cuz it has a flash! this guy either forgot to mention or doesnt know that the env2 has a night mode function on its camera which works just as well as a flash if not better. Thursday, June 05, 2008I just got back from the Verizon store and i checked out the Glyde (as well as pay my bill) but i have to be honest. It took me a minute to get use to the touchscreen because of the size but after i got it i was flying thourh the phone. i sent a text to myself and the QWERTY was really really easy to use. i didnt have a problem with the screen but i didnt use it much. So if you ask me..GET THIS PHONE! Thursday, June 05, 2008I'm going with the Glyde. The env2 is a nice phone but I dont think its just outshone in features nd coolness of the Glyde. The Glyde might have problems with the touchscreen now but that can be easily fixed with a firmware update, just like the voyager was. The glyde is more compact and I like the placing of the space bar much better & the glydes camera is better with the flash! GO GLYDE Sunday, June 01, 2008no way i'm going with the glyde, stupid envy that things is retarted. glyde has got a better camera better internet touch screen, a bigger screen, weighs less , cooler looking, and who cares if its vonerable to scratches, its called take care of phone smart one. all phones scratch ya dumbass
Thursday, May 29, 2008dont drive and talk on the phone. idiot. Wednesday, May 28, 2008No one seems to mention that the Env2 is so EASY to dial- the keys are big and if you're drivin' and have only one hand- it's great. The touch screen on the Glyde is a little frustrating if you have one hand and you're not using the keyboard to dial. Overall I wish the Env2 were html based like the Glyde, but I think the Env2 is easier to live with and CHEAPER ;-) Wednesday, May 28, 2008i agree with ozy18708. i would love to see an alias vs env2 video. it's between those two with me and i really can't decide. Tuesday, May 27, 2008I like both of them but the enV 2 is the best phone for messaging. The glyde is a little bit bulkier and seems like the same size as the bulky original enV. If you are gonna have a touchscreen, make it out of glass like apple did on the iPhone. The Glyde is way to vulnerable to scratches, leaving the touchscreen to be easily damaged. Plus the enV 2 is half the price of the Glyde. I have had my enV 2 for about a month now. Monday, May 26, 2008does the enV2 go on youtube? Sunday, May 25, 2008Does enV 2 have 3g?
