With SE keeping quiet about price and U.S. carrier this touchscreen device offers an arch slider front screen to find your QWERTY keyboard hidden below. The main screen offers 9 active desktop panels that are easy to change keeping your favorite and most important shortcuts at your finger tips. The Xperia X1 comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, auto-touch focus, and video capture functions. Only time can tell how this latest touchscreen device from SE will stack up with the rest of the market.

5/7/2008 7:38:16 PMI just want a phone that has all the qualities of a computer. When they invent that then and only then will I spend hundreds of dollars for it. Mean while just give me a phone that txts, takes pics and vids, plays mp3s and is capable of playing FREE third party ringtones. P.S. I would get this if, whatever service that has it (except ATT), gives an discount on it. I refuse to pay full price for something thats gonna crap out in two years.

4/30/2008 11:46:30 AMLooks like a quite boring phone.. too bad. I was looking forward to something new, but it isn't - WM6 is so 1995. I'm gonna keep my iPhone.

4/27/2008 2:25:10 AMwhat? $1000? Too much. It's not on my list anymore, lol. Even if I can afford it, I wouldn't spend that much money on a phone. $700 is the most I'd spend on a phone.

4/22/2008 8:32:22 PMNope. It's a Windows Mobile phone - first one SE has made. So it'll have the regular Windows Mobile OS and menu system with that new Xperia panel interface "on top" of WinMob.

4/21/2008 4:07:55 AMSo many choices. It's betweent the Samsung i900, X1 and the Nokia Tube. But I think it's really between the X1 and the Nokia Tube. I think I'll wait for the Nokia Tube, though the X1 is really tempting, but based on the demo, it's kinda sluggish. Have to wait for more reviews. But for now, Nokia Tube is on the top of my list, followed closely by the X1 and the Samsung i900.

@ CTIA 08: Hands-on with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
I got some time to check out Sony Ericsson's forthcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia X1, here at CTIA and also got a thorough demo from an SE representative.  You can actually check out the demo captured in full video for your enjoyment. On the whole I'm pretty excited for this device to ship, though a bit concerned about the still somewhat vague "second half of 2008" availability SE's tell folks about.  SE has something of a tarnished reputation when it comes to long delays...
