Sprint says Instinct has an HTML Web browser. How is it? Here's Part 2, looking at what Instinct can and can't do on the Web, including some handy widgets. Generally the browser's good, but not great.

Monday, June 09, 2008Thanks for the videos, Noah, they're much appreciated! Keep 'em coming! Couple of capability questions to throw in the mix: can it do streaming audio (like the online listening options for Sirius and XM subscribers) or Flash-based streams from radio station sites? As someone else asked, given that it isn't a MS or Palm back-end, will it be able to do the Slingbox mobile app?

Monday, June 09, 2008Thanks for the demonstration of the built-in web browser. Have you tried to download & run the new Opera Mini 4? Would that perhaps with the touchscreen interface? I currently have been using Opera Mini on most of my Sprint devices. Thanks in advance. "Forgive me if this question has been asked before."

Has anyone out there upgraded their Samsung Instinct to the latest firmware rev.?  I got a few reports that Sprint and Samsung have unleashed a new version that focuses on the Web browser.  Sounds like there might just be a full screen option (mapped to the Voice Command button) as well as general speed and stability improvements.Got an Instinct?  Upgraded it?  Hit the Web and let us know how it is!

I am looking for a good internet phone with an awesome mp3 player and easy to text. Do u have any suggestions? A. Thanks for the kind words - glad you like the reviews!  Since you said "Easy to text" I have to ask if you like to use T9 or full QWERTY to text.  If you like full...

Instinct: Sprint Releases Individual Application Updates

Instinct: Sprint Releases Individual Application Updates

At long last Sprint's given the go ahead to its vendors to unleash a slew of application updates upon Instinct owners.  A post on Instinct Insight details the release process, and makes it clear that the actual app updates are coming from the third-party software makers and not directly from Sprint.  Sprint basically opened up the floodgates here and its up to the vendors themselves to decide what to release, when, and how (or so says...
Noah Answers Your Questions - T9 on the Instinct?

Noah Answers Your Questions - T9 on the Instinct?

Q. Noah, you have very informative videos and think that you are great at your job. I have a question about Sprint's Samsung Instinct. I am fairly efficient with a QWERTY keypad, but I am so much faster on a T9 layout. Is the Samsung Instinct capable of a T9 text entry? I noticed in your YouTube video "Sprint Samsung Instinct vs LG Vu vs iPhone - Long Version " that when you entered the number to text (right past the 10:00 mark), the numbers had...

Noah Answers Your Questions - What is over the air downloading?

Q. In your instinct vs iphone comparison you said with the Instinct you can download 'over the air' and the iphone you cannot. what does that mean and what does it mean to me in a practical sense? Also, what other limitations would this feature, or lack of the feature, cause? A. Over the Air downloading means that you can purchase and download songs and video directly to the phone using your cellular connection.  Apple limits iPhones to...

SAMSUNG INSTINCT

I have a choice of 2 phones the samsung instinct or the razr2 v9m. I know that the razr2 v9m is from motorola and it might be of topic. So i told myself, "Hey why not get the samsung instinct, its touchscreen, and newer than the razr2 v9m". So i called my carrier and i asked the guy which phone i should get, the guy said " they're both really good phones, but you should go with the razr2 v9m because its a tougher and more durable phone, the...

Instinct to support wifi?

Well, this was a real setback when I was looking on a phone on the sprint network. I thought it would have wifi but later found out it doesn't. Is there any talk about it supporting wifi later on? And if they choose to do so, will it be a hardware update, or could they add wifi just by releasing new firmare? Also what are your experiences on sprints evdorev network? is it fast for internet browsing?...

Dare

First of all, STOP SAYING GET THE GLYDE! because the touch screen on that phone is so finiky and unresponsive!  But i would get the Dare because it is on the amazing Verizon Network, and i like the all around look better than the Instinct.  but then again it is a personal chioce. If you need a phone more for work (e-mail, calendar, etc.) then get the instinct, but if not, get the Dare.Hope this helps...

Re: LG Dare or Samsung Instinct

dont get either!               GET THE GLYDE!!!!!!

SamSung Instinct

Is the SamSung Instinct compatable with spiralfrog??

Re: LG Dare or Samsung Instinct

Personally, i would go for the LG Dare. Hands Down.  The camera isn't a big deal, but that is just another thing that makes it better.  The screen might be a bit smaller, but the is really crisp and clear on the Dare. I don't like the Instinct as much because it has a kind of metalic look to it. If i weren't in Canada, i would buy the Dare!!!

LG Dare or Samsung Instinct

I like both of these phones from the reviews on this site.  Is either a clear cut better phone then the other? The only advantage I have seen is the better camera on the Dare, but the camera is not that important to me.  I have to pick one of the two......which would you pick and why?  [H]
