so im thinking of switching my family to sprint for multiple reasons.  first, for the same $200 my parents pay for verizon a month, we could get the everything data plan for our five lines and we could all have palm pres or htc heroes ... second, verizon is making it madatory to get the new multimedia data package and some of our lines are up for upgrade...   now, those of us that are could get are phones before that goes into affect but (aka my parents) then on our next renewal we would have to switch becuase they will never use the data (supposedly)... i think that if we switch to sprint and they try the data they will never want to be without it again...

and the cons are... ive heard sprint has the worst customer service (most companies do) and the worst cellphone service.... does anyone have any recent stories / opinions because i heard they have changed.... and i also am worried about the whole lte / wimax transition because i firmly believe that wimax is gonna be left in the dust and i dont want to be how verizon and sprint are now i.e. stuck with limited crappy winMo phone because the rest of the world uses gsm.... so its a heard choice... what do you think... does anyone live in or near the san fernando valley CA or have experience with sprint in the area of 91326???

so do i wait for the palm pre or the motorola sholes and stick with the nations largest carrier or do i make the switch and maybe regret it.... also, if we switch we probably wont switch for a while so thats why im worried about the lte / wimax thing...  you thinks theres any chance verizon might eventually absorb sprint???

and is the talk true that sprint and verizon actually share towers so its the same service

also, does anyone have any way of getting out of a contract, because i need to consider that too... i heard that verizon is no longer allowed to charge early termination fees and all  you have to do is bring up the law suit...  also, anyone have a palm pre horror story, i have heard a couple like that they just fall apart

I've had Sprint and wouldn't leave them for the world. Service for me, mainly in the North Dallas Area of Texas and occassional road trips through Oklahoma into Missouri are fine and have rarely been without service except for one trip to a state park in Missouri that was way off the beaten path. Customer Service...I've only had to call less than once a year in the 10 years I've been with them, but I've only once had an billing issue that took more than one call to resolve.

Pricing you just can't beat. I'm on an Everything data family plan with myself and my fiance and added my dad's phone to it so we could all have Instincts last year. 1500 anytime minutes every month with unlimited nights/weekends starting at 7 p.m. Unlimited text and picturemail and unlimited data usage/web browsing as well as a somewhat decent selection of tv and radio channels. $150 a month. My dad still has a separate account for my mom, brother and sister and a spare phone(that I keep for my daughter) on an Everything messaging family plan for $120 that includes the same attributes, but no data/web browsing.

For your 5 lines, you're looking at $190(130 for the 1st 2 lines then $20 a piece for the other 3) for 1500 minutes shared between the 5 of you(oh don't forget free Sprint to Sprint calling for the family). Then the free text and picture/video mail and unlimited web.

I dare you to use the t-mobile advertised billshrink.com and see what the best deal for you is though. The everything data plan from Sprint was the best for me in terms of price and features according to their tool and it will tell you how  much you'd pay for the same or similiar service from another wireless provider.
