TCI Total World Dial-Around User Review

1.2

Not so great

By: Kathy POLY on Wednesday, June 15, 2005
From Manchester (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Cost is not too bad, but could be better.

Summary: Often cannot connect, and at times the sound quality is horrible. Complained to company and was told it was due to calling a mobile phone, but I dont have the problem when I dial straight through without the dialaround

    The face of Android

    The face of Android

Phone makers have been working with carriers to dress up and customize popular user interfaces in some exciting and beautiful ways, but evidence of the underlying OS often peeks through the cracks of a shiny, friendly veneer. Take for example, the HTC TouchFlo 3D interface, which is incredibly sleek and fluid, as well as central to the identity of the phones that feature it. Certain aspects of Windows Mobile become evident at inopportune...

Is Linux still a dirty word?

    Dirty Words; Linux?

With the G1, Linux takes its first starring role in the U.S. cellular handset market. For years, the OS has been the secret foundation of many a phone, gps device, ATM, in-flight movie player, web server, gadget, what have you. As far as much of the American public is concerned, Android represents the birth of Linux, if the collective "they" know that name at all. Linux has been indispensable in the research of world-class universities, in...

    Silverlight for Android?

    Silverlight/Android?

Just a quick bit of fodder for the Android rumor mill. Tech Radar has an Interview with Microsoft's Scott Guthrie regarding the possibility of their Silverlight product, which competes directly with Adobe's Flash, showing up on Android-powered phones. Considering Apple's decision to accommodate neither on the iPhone, Silverlight for Android could really heat up the touch-screen game. While certainly not an announcement of Microsoft's...

Omnia: Is Samsung bringing the Omnia to Verizon?

    Omnia for Verizon?

This is an interesting turn of events, if it proves to be true.  With all of the speculation about if and when Samsung would bring their Windows Mobile powerhouse, the Omnia, to AT&T, nobody stopped to think about a CDMA version of the device.  Nobody, it seems, except Samsung and Verizon Wireless. According to this rebate form posted on HowardForums and later found on Engadget Mobile, Big Red is prepping a VZW-branded Omnia to...

Krave: Motorola launches Verizon Krave ZN4 Touchscreen Flip Phone

    MOTO Krave ZN4

I'm "at" the Motorola Virtual Press Conference where they're launching the Krave ZN4 for Verizon.  No surprise here, as this device was leaked far and wide.  But it still sounds pretty interesting - it's a flip phone with a touchscreen and an "interactive flip."  Apparently the clear plastic flip cover has touch controls so you can access frequently used functions without opening the device up. Krave looks like it's going to...
