Blue Casa exist for two reasons: one is somewhat boring: the government created new laws that allow companies to compete with your current phone provider. They believed that competition is a good thing and that if there’s more competition, the one who will benefit is you (and us) as customers. They couldn’t agree more.

The other reason is much more interesting: they love phones and they know how to make the customer experience so much better than it is today. OurBlue Casa's CEO and Founder, Don Oas, was an executive in charge of Consumer Products at the big phone company for a long time. He saw how it worked, understood the important details of everything from technologies to customer service and knew there had to be a better way. Not just a “slightly less painful” way, but rather a “radically new, dramatically different, focused on the customer first” better way to run a phone company. And he also knew that a phone company like this could only be started in a town like Santa Barbara and a state like California.
