My 3U Review 2007

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5
By: Anthony Lawson on Monday, December 10, 2007
From: Los Angeles, CA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Lower price than competition! no higher charge for day and or night calls.

Cons: Charges for non connection/repeat dialling and dropped calls. Disparity between land-line and cell call charges (industry common)

Summary: 1. 3U should consider discounting repeated calls up to 50%.
2. Lower prices: 'to cell' calls to match land line prices for calls over 15min.
3. Offer me a franchise to sell phone service exclusive to the Caribbean.
4. overall a great service. I feel confident when I make my calls, that the final charges are affordable. Customer service is really good, I am able to see my 'chat damage' before I reach damage control.

3U Telecom Long Distance

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: George Collins on Tuesday, December 04, 2007
From: Horseshoe Bay, TX (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Service with 3U Telecom was quick and easy to set up. Activation took less than 48 hours. Service is invisible and call quality is excellent. Domestic and international rates are extremely low.

Cons: Billing problems have prevented the company from charging for calls made after 9-30-07.

Summary: 3U Telecom has provided an excellent service for the cost. Land line connections are seamless with no delay and no requirement to dial into a dedicated phone number unless a cell phone is used to make the call. I highly recommend this service.

Summary: I am very satisfied with 3U Telecom overall and highly recommend this company.

So far so good

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5
By: Jonathan Jones on Sunday, November 25, 2007
From: Blank, FL (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: AT&T charges me for long distance used or not. Phonedog.com provides Global Crossing service and only charges me when I have long distance.

Cons: I don't get a statement of service, but haven't looked online for one.

Summary: Far cheaper than AT&T long distance charges - especially when I don't use long distance, but I would still have to pay with AT&T.

3U Telecom

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: TJ Blank on Wednesday, September 19, 2007
From: Crestview, FL (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: one second rounding, online invoice showing every call and it's cost, excellent sound quality, 4.8 cents state to state long distance, dial direct from home phone-no pins or 800 numbers

Cons: I talk more long distance now so my phone bill has gone up!

Summary: I think 3U Telecom is an excellent service with competitive national rates and excellent international rates. The sound quality is superior compared to another service I have used in the past, especially on international calls- no annoying echo. Highly recommend!

Terrible service

Overall Rating:
1.8 out of 5
By: John Thompson on Wednesday, August 29, 2007
From: San Fransisco, CA (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Cheap - that's about it

Cons: Terrible customer service.

Summary: Didn't explain how to dial international from a cell despite me asking specifically. Now ended up with huge bill from my cellphone provider. Useless serice provider - have now changed due to this 'mistake' on their part.

Seriously? Riots?: NYers line up, wait, and get angry over BlackBerry Storm

    Storm Riots in NYC

What ever happened to try before you buy?  Hordes of CrackBerry addicts in New York City braved sub-freezing temperatures to line up before 6am this morning at Verizon stores in hopes of landing a BlackBerry Storm.  Lots of 'em apparently went home (or to the office) cold and angry, as VZW didn't have enough stock to meet the demand. So much for reading reviews and carefully considering new purchases in this time of economic...

Southeast Asia: is mobile web use surpassing wired access?

SE Asia: mobile vs. wired web

The Norwegian creators of the Opera browsers said today that mobile Internet use seems to be surpassing wired access in much of Southeast Asia. And that in some areas, it's the standard means of access, rather than the alternative. You can check out their monthly State of the Mobile Web report here. Storm: Verdict? Disappointing

I really, really want to like Verizon's new BlackBerry Storm.  I want to love it.  Why?  Well, competition is good, and in the year and a half since the original iPhone launched, no other phone has been able to match the performance of its touchscreen or Web browser.  HTC's Touch Pro and G1, and Samsung's Epix and Eternity have impressed me as of late, but none of these devices offers the fingers-on touchscreen experience of...
