opex hidden charges

By: Hiram anonymous on Monday, September 17, 2007
From Los Angeles (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: instate and state-to-state charges ok. Reimbursed switching charges

Cons: hidden charges, switching problems

Summary: Charges a .74 fee each month callilng it a USF (Fed. Universal Service Fund fee), even if you make no calls, which is never mentioned in their ads, which enriches Opex because the feds charge a percentage of your charge, not a fixed fee.

Went through all the hoops, including voice confirmation, to switch. Months later found out I had never been switched. Customer service couldn't understand it, the order was placed but never carried out.

Elected e-payment, to avoid montly charges. After two months, began getting $2 monthly charge for printed bill anyway. Another call to customer service to fix this (hopefully has).

Ordered calling card twice. Never received it.

Charges more than the 2.7/min. claimed. Actually .03/ minute for both in and out state.

I have some credit coming. Will switch after it is used up.
