Deceptive Practices, Sub-Par Customer ServiceBy: Christina McLeod on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 From Southern (United States) Experience: 2 Months Pros: NoneCons: Minimum usage fee Deceptive rate advertising Unknowledgable and unhelpful customer serviceSummary: I have been with OPEX for approximately two months and have had nothing but problems. First, I am being billed a $1.99 paper billing fee when the only way the company bills is via paper. I was told by customer "un"service that they are having issues with their systems and can't sign anyone up for electronic billing at this time and that I would have to pay the fee. Second, every time I call with billing issues, the representatives don't seem to know anything about this company, proper customer service procedures, what actions to take to solve an issue, etc. I'm doubtful all of them even have a working knowledge of the English language. I am in the process of switching to another long distance company due to the deceptive billing practices and the inability of anyone at this company to fix a problem. Rates are ok, but there are other companies that provide the same rates that I'm sure are more reliable and professional.
