No problems to report about my phone service.Cons: It took too long to get my phone service started due to an error in my phone number. Customer service representative is eager to accommodate.Cons: noneSummary: In communications with Opex to establish a new account, we have been quite pleased with Opex's responses. It has resulted in establishing an economical, quality service. When the first bill arrived there was a periodic charge applied to which we hadn't agreed and a call to customer service got the problem resolved within 24 hours. This is what service should be. There are no connection problems and voice quality is excellent. The fact that you can speak with a friendly human being in Customer Service without punching your way through a never-ending automated system is a great plus. The web site is set up for self-service account management and rates are rock bottom within the US. OPEX Value Plus 2.7Overall Rating: By: James Hansen on Friday, March 24, 2006From: Tinley Park, IL (United States) Experience: 3 Months Pros: Inexpensive service; no minimum monthly fee with online billing.Cons: OPEX will not refund SBC's fee for changing long-distance providersSummary: I signed up for online billing which was touted as free - meaning there would be no recurring minimum usage monthly fee should a minimum long-distance charge not be reached. To my dismay, I was charged $2 on the very first bill because I did not reach the minimum. However, one email to the customer care department solved the problem. That same day $2 was immediately credited to my account and I have not been charged the $2 fee since that time. I am now seriously looking to switch local toll service from SBC to OPEX. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful

Summary: This service is fine for cheap calls in the 48 states, but be careful with international calls, as well as calls to AK and HI. Know the rate before you call, and understand that the rate to a cell phone overseas can be much higher than the landline rate. I called OPEX to complain about paying $50 for a 5 minute call to a satellite phone in the UK, and they did reduce the charge by 50%. 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful
