OPEX Value Plus 2.7 User Review![]() I came back.Overall Rating: By: Todd D. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007From: Kalamazoo, MI (United States) Experience: 6 Years Pros: Price, price, price. Flexible, online billing. Easy to set up an account. Voice quality.Cons: None.Summary: I began using OPEX as my long distance carrier some time around 2000/2001. Everything was as advertised: low rates, accurate billing, prompt payment credits, quality calls, easy-to-use calling cards. In late 2006, I let myself get talked into bundling my local, long distance, and Internet into one company. I'd "save" nearly 50%, I was told. I switched. I was an idiot. It took only two billing cycles for me to realize that the long distance portion of my bill had nearly tripled from what I was paying with OPEX. The reason it took me two months to figure this out? The bills were so confusing, I couldn't read them. Without thinking twice about it, I switched back to OPEX. And other than the switching fee the other carrier charged me, the process was as simple and as painless as the first time I switched to OPEX six years ago. I can't be happier to be back. 17 out of 42 people found this review helpful
Prefer over AT&TOverall Rating: By: James Richardson on Wednesday, March 07, 2007From: Sheboygan, WI (United States) Experience: 50 Days Pros: Opex offers much lower prices than AT&T long distance and gives faster and better service.Cons: None so far.Summary: I am glad that I switched from AT&T long distance to Opex. Opex customer service is easier to contact. AT&T had left me on hold for over 20 minutes a number of times. Opex gives faster service at much lower prices. 30 out of 53 people found this review helpful

Opex long distanceOverall Rating: By: Wendy Miller on Friday, February 16, 2007From: San Rafael, CA (United States) Experience: 60 Days Pros: super cheap international long distance rates as well as local long distances.Cons: None.Summary: I tried Opex after getting a huge international long distance bill from my present carrier. Very easy transition. They take care of it all. I couldn't believe how cheap the Opex rates were! Had a bill of 69 minutes including long calls to both Australia and England with a total cost of $5.85!! Can't beat that anywhere. Also their on-line bill notification and bill pay takes all the worry out of losing bills. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to save loads of $$$ on long distance calls. 28 out of 50 people found this review helpful
Great for low-usage linesOverall Rating: By: Steven D on Wednesday, February 14, 2007From: Pittsburgh, PA (United States) Experience: 90 Days Pros: No minimum usage, no monthly fees, no hassles.Cons: NoneSummary: Rates are low for all types of calls, but the main reason I picked Opex is their lack of minimum usage and monthly fees. No problems so far, apart from some glitches with their web site (selecting "ebill" didn't stick, for one account). 24 out of 47 people found this review helpful

Exactly what they advertise.Cons: None so far.Summary: Recommended by a friend and finally tried it out after using phone cards. A little leery that maybe there was some very fine print I missed, but Opex turned out to be exactly as they presented themeselves. No hidden fees, taxes, surcharges, etc. Particularly impressed when notified by email that they had received my payment. Great service so far and will recommend to friends. OpexOverall Rating: By: Shoua Moua on Saturday, January 27, 2007From: Fresno, CA (United States) Experience: 3 Months Pros: Very cheap.Cons: No paper billing.Summary: Opex is very cheap. I like the service very much. It's not like some companies where you have to guess to get a certained fixed amount of minutes. So if you go over those minutes you have to pay for every minute at it regular price i.e. 10 cents per minute. With Opex it's only 2 cents per minute and you don't really have to worry about an expensive bill on just your long distance calls 24 out of 45 people found this review helpful
