OPEX service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Lorena Trainor on Tuesday, August 22, 2006
From: Battle Creek, MI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Cheap long distance and international. No hassle phone calls. no dialing 10-10 etc., just the phone number. Prompt email for billing. No monthly fee if payment is automatic with credit card.

Cons: don't know yet.

Summary: As written in the pros, so far the service has been very good to me. I love the cheap rates and my long distance bill is about $ 6.00 a month. Not bad if you consider that I make two to three phone calls internationally each week.

Opex is great!

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Happy Customer on Monday, August 21, 2006
From: Los Angeles, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: No problems making call. Connection quality just as good as with more expensive carriers. Great price. Easy, friendly customer service.

Cons: None so far.

Summary: I've only used Opex for a couple of months and I don't make many long distance calls from home, but so far I have nothing but the highest praise for Opex. My only regret is all the money I threw using more expensive, better-known carriers!

Picking a long distance carrier

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Grace Brown on Friday, August 18, 2006
From: Delavan, WI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: The program was easy to use nd easy to navigate. I am such a klutz that I appreciate it when an easy program emerges.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Summary: My dissatisfaction with the telco LD plan finally gelled, and I read about your program in a magazine I read while waiting for the doctor. I chose Opex, and am well pleased with their service. I have recommended your website to others, but do not know if any of them have availed themselves of the site. There is, after all, a certain amount of inertia in us all!

By: Neil Hoffman on Monday, August 14, 2006
From: Livonia, MI (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Very low rates.

Cons: None so far.

Summary: Apparently Opex has different rates depending on where you sign up. Although the rates are not far off from each other, the rates from Opex found through PhoneDog.com are the best. I am very happy so far.

From: West Bloomfield, MI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: If it weren't for getting an emailed bill each month, we wouldn't know our service provider had changed. We are saving a minimum of $30/month over our old long distance provider....and we thought we'd had a good deal before.

Cons: NONE

Summary: This has been a problem-free change, a win-win situation. Absolutely no change in service, and a very large financial saving.

Summary: It took a while to get all of the service up and running, as we have two lines in our house. After calling customer service, all was taken care of. I got through immediately and the personnel were professional and did the job.

No service charges or other fees

Overall Rating:

By: Susan Hough on Friday, July 28, 2006
From: Attica, MI (United States)
Experience: 30 Days
Pros: I selected Opex because I was able to have a long distance service without any service fees. I don't make many long distance calls, so its nice to have the service minus the extra fees. With other companies, my service fees were sometimes more than my phone bill.

Summary: With Opex, I was able to have a long distance service without any service fees.

A good company to do buisness with

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Roland Spinks on Thursday, July 13, 2006
From: Indianapolis, IN (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: Opex is very straight forward and truthful about the service they offer.

Summary: A couple of years back I used Opex for my phone service and was pleased with them, but I got an offer from another provider for combined local and long distence for $49.00 per month which became seventy some dollars each month. It was a mistake for me to fall for their promises. I recently signed up with Opex again and my total bill is $20.00 cheaper per month than with the other company.

Phone Wars: Why do (some) people hate the iPhone?

Why do people hate the iPhone?

I got this question today via Facebook and thought it warranted some thought ... and all that thought warranted a blog post.  So I ask you, as you read on, what do YOU think?  Why do some people just seem to hate the iPhone (and Apple) so much?  Noah, maybe you can answer this for me: Why is it when people praise the iPhone, they're viewed as either blind fanboys, or on the Cupertino payroll, and when people praise 'any' other...

Krave: VZW to sell Moto ZN4 touchscreen smartphone for $149

    Moto Z54 to VZW

Motorla's MING series of Linux-based, touchscreen smartphones have been pretty popular overseas but never really seen the light of day here in the US.  Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books. Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of...
