Re: Pioneer LD service

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Susan Barnett on Saturday, April 30, 2005
From: Carmel, CA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Cons: I haven't found any.

Summary: Really excellent cust. service. I was going out of state when I started using Pioneer & needed "instant" calling card, which was provided with no hassle at all. And, while away & using the card, I reached my "limit," & all it took was one quick call to get the issue resolved. At that same time, there was a "bank-glitch" which had me in a frenzy, but it was quickly resolved with help from Pioneer support people. I'm really happy with Pioneer - so far, at least, there have been no unhappy experiences.

Lower My Phone Bill Review

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Linda Hill on Monday, January 10, 2005
From: Pelzer, (United States)
Summary: Over all I think that Pioneer service is very good. However, there have been a few times when I was making a long distance call there was some static on the line. The cost of the service is excellent, and I have not had to worry about high long distance phone bills since I signed up for Pioneer. I highly recommend Pioneer long distance service.
Thanks,
Linda Hill

Summary: So far, I am satisfied with Pioneer but wonder if I am being charged the right rate as I do not receive a paper bill and pay the bill on line. Other than this, it sure beats verizon's long distance rates. Glad I found you and have recommended you many times, but seems all the people I know use calling cards so have not been able to get any of them to switch. Thank you. Joan Jackson

Life with Pioneer 3.25 TalkCents

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Becky Massingill on Tuesday, October 26, 2004
From: Birmingham, (United States)
Summary: We had been solely using our cell phones for long distance prior to this switch to Pioneer. We had long distance blocked on our home phone line. I was provided enough information to select a new long distance plan and Pioneer was it for me. The plan details are laid out nicely, if you take the time to read them.
I was suprised it took more than a couple of days to convert my long distance. I also thought I would be able to meet the minimum usage per month. My first month I fell short and had to pay a low usage fee. I was forwarned fairly and it was a minimal amount. I still hate to pay for something I didn't use. I will stay with them unless I continue to fall short of their minimum usage.

    G1 Emulator

T-Mobile's G1 emulator is online, and playing with it is just like messing around with the not-yet-available HTC H1 Android phone.  Except for the phone part. The emulator is pretty cool, and honestly got me a little more jazzed to try out a G1 in person.  Don't get me wrong, I was jazzed already - but the emulator made me forget about the phone's perceived hardware shortcomings and instead focus on the Android user experience,...

Has anyone out there upgraded their Samsung Instinct to the latest firmware rev.?  I got a few reports that Sprint and Samsung have unleashed a new version that focuses on the Web browser.  Sounds like there might just be a full screen option (mapped to the Voice Command button) as well as general speed and stability improvements.Got an Instinct?  Upgraded it?  Hit the Web and let us know how it is!

Love the HTC Touch Diamond but tired of basic black?  Or maybe you're into Sprint's red version but wish you could get the GSM version with the original "faceted" back plate done up in red?  You may be in luck.  French retailer Phone and Phone has the Touch Diamond in seven new colors on its website, and while there's nothing about worldwide availability of the newly colored faceplates, if this is legit it would stand to...

Phone Wars: Why do (some) people hate the iPhone?

Why do people hate the iPhone?

I got this question today via Facebook and thought it warranted some thought ... and all that thought warranted a blog post.  So I ask you, as you read on, what do YOU think?  Why do some people just seem to hate the iPhone (and Apple) so much?  Noah, maybe you can answer this for me: Why is it when people praise the iPhone, they're viewed as either blind fanboys, or on the Cupertino payroll, and when people praise 'any' other...

    BlackBerry Storm Video

Watching this video from Italian site ilTrillo.com is seriously a lot like watching a bootleg copy of a first-run movie that hasn't come to your local theater yet. In this case it goes like this: Yeah, you get to see more on the BlackBerry Storm but you have to suffer through a shaky handycam vid shot from the back of the auditorium and also deal with clipping audio and lots of people's heads between you and the content you really want to...

Krave: VZW to sell Moto ZN4 touchscreen smartphone for $149

    Moto Z54 to VZW

Motorla's MING series of Linux-based, touchscreen smartphones have been pretty popular overseas but never really seen the light of day here in the US.  Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books. Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of...

    Nokia 5800 launch

Nokia held a big shindig in London today where, as expected, they officially launched the XpressMusic 5800.  The 5800 is the first device to feature the S60 5th Edition operating system, which adds support for fingertip and stylus-based input and high-resolution displays.  As you might expect from that, the 5800 does in fact pack a high-res, touch-friendly screen: 3.2" of resistive touchscreen at 640 x 360 pixels.
