By: Van Zeiler on Wednesday, October 10, 2007
From: Big Canoe, GA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: A great long distance service at a great price.
On line billing works great.

Cons: None

Summary: I could not ask for a better deal. Installation was a snap and monthly charges have been a fraction of my prior MCI charges.

By: Wesley Mitchell on Wednesday, October 10, 2007
From: Reserve, LA (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: They had the best competive pricing. Alot to choose from

Cons: It took a long time to get the service turned on

Summary: Now that my service is on and working. So far it seems to be a great deal. However It really took alot of paitence to keep the service while waiting almost a month. So if ur in a hurry for service look elsewhere. if not then it is good.

Phone Review

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Rashell Hargrove on Wednesday, October 03, 2007
From: Rhineland, MO (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: The service is wonderful.

Cons: Unable to view bill on line during the month. I would really like to see my bill day to day if I so chose.

Summary: I forget where I found this company at but I'm glad I did. I have not had any problems with service and when I called in once to ask a question about the internet they were very helpful.

Not Too Shabby

Overall Rating:
3.3 out of 5
By: Rachel Glenn on Friday, September 28, 2007
From: St. Marys, PA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap

Cons: It did take a while and a number (4) of phone calls to finally get it set up. The online bills are a bit of a pain since you need to remember to go look at them to make sure you are not getting ripped off. So far, no problems.

Summary: As long as you're not in a hurry and are willing to keep tabs on your service, you're good to go with them.

Pros: I had no problems.
Will be using it in our other house also.

Summary: The price seems to be fine and hope it will always stay low or even lower. I would like to use it for overseas calls more and Austria is not one of you lower rate ones. Hope it will be included

Pioneer 3.3C plan worthwhile

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Mark Meritt on Monday, September 10, 2007
From: Red Hook, NY (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Great price -- best price I could find. Convenient automatic credit card billing. Good service via toll-free number -- friendly, knowledgable, helpful.

Cons: So far, the only con seems to be a difficulty downloading transaction for import into other applications for tracking. Possibly a compatibility issue with the Safari browser? Otherwise, no complaints.

Pioneer phone service

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: William Harlow on Monday, September 03, 2007
From: Richland Springs, TX (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Good price

Cons: Hit and miss service quality. Other party can't hear us many times. Our long distance calls often are dropped and the other party has to call us back. Some calls we make sound like they are still ringing to us and the other party has answered but can not get through to us!

Summary: We will probably drop this service soon due to these problems!!

Apps: OrbLive 2.0 released in App Store, enables hi-speed live TV

    Updated iPhone live TV app

Lots of great stuff happening for iPhone and iPod Touch users this week. The latest from Orb is no exception. The media-streaming company recently launched OrbLive 2.0, an iPhone app that uses Edge, Wifi and 3G networks to dish out music, videos, photos and even documents, from a Windows PC to the user's cell phone. But let's face it: The real star of the show is being able to watch live television streamed from your own computer to that...

Seriously? Riots?: NYers line up, wait, and get angry over BlackBerry Storm

    Storm Riots in NYC

What ever happened to try before you buy?  Hordes of CrackBerry addicts in New York City braved sub-freezing temperatures to line up before 6am this morning at Verizon stores in hopes of landing a BlackBerry Storm.  Lots of 'em apparently went home (or to the office) cold and angry, as VZW didn't have enough stock to meet the demand. So much for reading reviews and carefully considering new purchases in this time of economic...

News: VZW staffers get caught peeking at Obamas cell account

    Obama's cell account breached

Imagine my surprise when, right after I blog about Barack Obama having to give up his BlackBerry, Verizon Wireless admitted that its own employees illicitly accessed a cell phone account of the now president-elect.Here's the statement that was issued by VZW's President and CEO Lowell McAdam: “This week we learned that a number of Verizon Wireless employees have, without authorization, accessed and viewed President-Elect Barack Obama’s personal...

    Awesome iPhone firmware update

The long-awaited, much-anticipated over-the-air podcast downloads are now available via the latest 2.2 firmware update for iPhone!I suffer from over-stimulation in New York City, and podcasts are my major meds. Now, I won't run out of podcasts to keep me level and sane when I'm around town. (There's...

    The LG Prada II

You know it. Some of you have even smacked your lips over it. But alas, there's still no word on the LG Prada II launching in the States, even as this follow-up to the first LG Prada phone debuted in Europe yesterday. Is it fair? Heck no. Southeast Asia: is mobile web use surpassing wired access?

SE Asia: mobile vs. wired web

The Norwegian creators of the Opera browsers said today that mobile Internet use seems to be surpassing wired access in much of Southeast Asia. And that in some areas, it's the standard means of access, rather than the alternative. You can check out their monthly State of the Mobile Web report here. The geographic snapshot from October happens to focus on Southeast Asia; something I didn't know about when I wrote a piece on the market...

    Mini-Review: Motorola Rapture

Pros: quick and easy picture taking, video capture, plays music without opening the flip, stereo bluetooth, useful external touch screen, sleek design, nice materials.  Cons: price, no music in the background. The Rapture has those grooved metal buttons that can be found on the Motozine. There are two contextual buttons, but none of the fancy LED color changes of the ZN5. The Rapture's rubberized back, shiny little screens,...

    More on Storm: Verdict? Disappointing

    Storm: Verdict? Disappointing

I really, really want to like Verizon's new BlackBerry Storm.  I want to love it.  Why?  Well, competition is good, and in the year and a half since the original iPhone launched, no other phone has been able to match the performance of its touchscreen or Web browser.  HTC's Touch Pro and G1, and Samsung's Epix and Eternity have impressed me as of late, but none of these devices offers the fingers-on touchscreen experience of...

    Cell phones & dating

When I got hitched last year, I was happy to put my history of bad dates firmly behind me. But boy did I pay my dues. Once, during a particularly horrible rendezvous, I ran to the ladies' room and texted my friend."Help! Bad date. Need out :-(  Pls call in 10 min!!"After adding the extra exclamation point for emphasis, I went back to the table and waited to be rescued. Ten minutes never felt so long. My companion's misplaced cockiness,...
