Long distance phone service

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Monica Kapitan on Tuesday, August 28, 2007
From: Pleasant Grove , TX (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Good rate for the most part

Cons: when first hooked up, caller was getting a miss

Summary: For the most part, I am satisfied with the services. The only problem that we had was that right at first, when someone called our number they got a recording that a phone company hasn't been picked yet. We also had some trouble switching over.

By: alan viani on Saturday, August 25, 2007
From: auburn township, PA (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Inexpensive for both local & regional calling.

Cons: None that I can ascertain.

Summary: I had one incident whereby I was unable to connect to make long distance calls. I complained to my local phone company and the problem was resolved. I am not sure whether it was a problem with Pioneer or the local company (Frontier).

Pioneer 3.3 long distance plan

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: T H on Wednesday, August 15, 2007
From: Garrett, KY (United States)
Experience: 30 Days
Pros: I save a lot over the minute rate i was paying for long distance. There is no minimum monthly charge like I was having to pay for MCI. The rate is the same no matter when or what day. with MCI I had one rate on one day and one rate on weekends, etc.

Cons: I had to send in private information. I do not like putting my SS no.out there, but in order to pay by check (which my husband likes to do) I had to submit my information in a letter. Now we can receive a paper bill and pay by check. We are old fashioned and uncomfortable with automatic withdrawals from our charge account.

Summary: I am pleased so far with the long distance service and am happy that we chose to try it. I would recommend it to other people who want to save money on their long distance bill.

Pioneer 3.3c

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: James Wheeler on Thursday, July 19, 2007
From: Allerton, IA (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: Cheap rates and great customer service response.

Summary: I am well pleased with Pioneer long distance services. I initially had some issues having to do with my debit card not being accepted (not their fault)and they were very helpful in getting that resolved. They stayed with me and responded right away by email and phone. The service itself is very dependable and the phone service just a clear as ATT.
I would certainly not hesitate to recommend Pioneer to anyone who is in the market for good long distance service and excellent customer service at a cheap price. Thank You.

Pioneer Telephone Service Review

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Larry Ream on Monday, July 16, 2007
From: McCormick, SC (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Quality and price of service

Cons: Couldn't get the best price offered due to location away from any major metropolitan area.

Summary: I looked over several available services and am very pleased with the convienence, cost and quality of the Pioneer service. I am getting away from a Sam's card I have been using for long distance service for many years. It's nice to only dial 1 and the number vs. 22 credit card numbers before the persons number.

Apps: OrbLive 2.0 released in App Store, enables hi-speed live TV

    Updated iPhone live TV app

Lots of great stuff happening for iPhone and iPod Touch users this week. The latest from Orb is no exception. Seriously? Riots?: NYers line up, wait, and get angry over BlackBerry Storm

    Storm Riots in NYC

What ever happened to try before you buy?  Hordes of CrackBerry addicts in New York City braved sub-freezing temperatures to line up before 6am this morning at Verizon stores in hopes of landing a BlackBerry Storm.  Lots of 'em apparently went home (or to the office) cold and angry, as VZW didn't have enough stock to meet the demand. So much for reading reviews and carefully considering new purchases in this time of economic...

Southeast Asia: is mobile web use surpassing wired access?

SE Asia: mobile vs. wired web

The Norwegian creators of the Opera browsers said today that mobile Internet use seems to be surpassing wired access in much of Southeast Asia. And that in some areas, it's the standard means of access, rather than the alternative. You can check out their monthly State of the Mobile Web report here. Storm: Verdict? Disappointing

I really, really want to like Verizon's new BlackBerry Storm.  I want to love it.  Why?  Well, competition is good, and in the year and a half since the original iPhone launched, no other phone has been able to match the performance of its touchscreen or Web browser.  HTC's Touch Pro and G1, and Samsung's Epix and Eternity have impressed me as of late, but none of these devices offers the fingers-on touchscreen experience of...
