Pros: Low cost, ease of use

Excellent service

By: sacha skaggs on Monday, June 02, 2008
From: ponca city, OK (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Great rates and great customer service

Cons: High taxes but that cannot be helped

Summary: TCI is wonderful. The rates are the best I have found. It is a little higher per minute than they say because of taxes. but its still a great deal. With taxes I pay less than 0.07 min. That is the best deal around. I have saved about 17.00 a month or 70% by switching from ATT to TCI. Best of all when you call you get a real person who speaks english. I highl reccomend.

Total Call thumbs up

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Laura Lannin on Wednesday, January 02, 2008
From: Chatham, NJ (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Very easy to switch service, painless online sign up, and the savings is just phenomenal.

Cons: I was surprised that a high tech company would send paper bill when the online sign up is so easy. I would prefer to be able to pay the bill online, but they do offer recurring credit card payments via their paper bill system.

Summary: Worth the switch! We cut our landline phone bill by over 30 dollars per month.

I obtained this service for my mother-in-law

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Kimberly Postupack on Sunday, November 25, 2007
From: Alpharetta, GA (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: A substantial cost savings, excellent quality and excellent customer service.

Summary: My mother-in-law previously subscribed to Verizon for her local and long distance service. She had asked me to help her find a carrier with a better rate. I did some research via the internet and TCI had a plan that fit her needs. She is very happy she made the switch from Verizon to TCI. She is able to make state to state and local long distance calls for a fraction of the cost she paid to her previous carrier and there are no hidden costs or unexplained charges. I am responding to this survey because my mother-in-law does not have a computer but I reviewed the form with her so that I could provide accurate responses.

Long distance service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Maria Yu on Tuesday, October 23, 2007
From: Beltsville, MD (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Summary: My son recommended Total Call International service to me realizing that I have relatives and friends in China. I am very pleased with the service first of all I do not need to dial all different numbers in order to be connected. At my over 80 age, this is definitely a plus in long distance dialing. Secondly there's no minimum usage fee or other hidden fees. All seniors should have this kind of service.

Review of Total Call Phone Service and Customer Support

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Jill Dyer on Thursday, October 18, 2007
From: Lake Jackson, TX (United States)
Experience: 45 Days
Pros: Excellent price and phone service.
Excellent plan with post-payment and no fees.

Cons: Poor online update capability.
Long waiting time to talk with customer service.

Summary: Customer Service is excellent once you get through the queue. I have waited 5 to 30 minutes and have also hung up to try later. I had to call to change my e-mail address and add a payment option. After initial inconveniences, service is well-worth the cost.

Long Distance - Did you know?

Many people think using Calling Cards are less expensive than using regular long distance. How can this be? Don’t they have to pay for the usage of the same lines as everyone else? Sure they do, but calling card companies have become experts in marketing tactics!

Read the fine print of the calling card, they often charge for units, not minutes. A unit can be any measure of time they decide, plus they often have minimum call amounts and round up to the next unit. The bottom line is, they have done the math, and it’s going to cost most people more money than selecting a good long distance plan.
