Uni-Tel 2.5 Plan

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Bernie Webber on Monday, March 12, 2007
From: Anthem, AZ (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: A very good, low cost long distance plan. Customer Service is fast and responsive.

Cons: Uni-Tel uses Qwest telephone lines under contract for servicing my area. Qwest is also my local carrier, so I was confused about the Qwest "PIC" code when my long distance service first started. A quick email to Customer Service addressed my concerns.

Summary: I am very happy with this plan. I make very few long distance calls, and this plans seems the best available for my limited usage. With electronic billing and credit card payments, there are No minimum charges or service fees.

Unitel has impressed me 100%!

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Jennifer Wintrick on Wednesday, February 21, 2007
From: North Royalton, OH (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Low prices, detailed bills, ability to view, print, and pay bill online, no problems with disconnection, no problems with quality of calls.

Cons: I have found no problems at all with Unitel since I signed up 3 months ago.

Summary: First and foremost, great prices! If I wouldn't have changed to Unitel, my long distance bill would have been over $40 this month. With Unitel, it is only $13. I LOVE the detailed phone bill showing the ten most expensive calls, ten longest calls, ten most called cities and ten most called numbers. I'm so glad that I found Unitel and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know!

Great Deal for Long Distance Service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Jason and Jennifer on Sunday, January 28, 2007
From: Mt. Sterling, KY (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: Very Inexpensive, Very Convenient Billing and Payment Options, Small charge for 1-800 number

Cons: None

Summary: When we are paying so much for our local phone service, it doesn't bother me a bit to pay the little we do for Uni-tel long distance. I have the payment taken out of my checking account each month, so I get an invoice by e-mail. I receive the e-mail, write it down in my checking account, and never have to worry about it again. I like that convenience and because its only a few dollars a month, it's not like it's another bill to pay. I have family that lives out of state and with other companies it was costing me a small fortune every month. So I like the money I save every month with Uni-tel. I also like having the 1-800 number. Comparing it to others companies, I am getting the same services and exceptional customer service but paying a lot less a month.

UNITEL 2.5

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Michael McCloskey on Friday, January 05, 2007
From: New Orleans, LA (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Integrates seamlessly into the telephone service plan and provides the exact same services that are expected of any major long distance service provider.

Cons: None.

Summary: I would recommend UNITEL 2.5 to anyone that requires a long distance service provider for their home land-line telephone. By keeping my local telephone service at a minimum (with a minimum of caller ID and call waiting), and using UNITEL 2.5, my regular telephone bills are less than if I used a VOIP provider (like Vonage) that also requires a high speed cable internet connection that costs nearly $42/month on its own.

    Updated iPhone live TV app

Lots of great stuff happening for iPhone and iPod Touch users this week. The latest from Orb is no exception. But let's face it: The real star of the show is being able to watch live television streamed from your own computer to that...

Seriously? Riots?: NYers line up, wait, and get angry over BlackBerry Storm

    Storm Riots in NYC

What ever happened to try before you buy?  Hordes of CrackBerry addicts in New York City braved sub-freezing temperatures to line up before 6am this morning at Verizon stores in hopes of landing a BlackBerry Storm.  Lots of 'em apparently went home (or to the office) cold and angry, as VZW didn't have enough stock to meet the demand. So much for reading reviews and carefully considering new purchases in this time of economic...

Southeast Asia: is mobile web use surpassing wired access?

SE Asia: mobile vs. wired web

The Norwegian creators of the Opera browsers said today that mobile Internet use seems to be surpassing wired access in much of Southeast Asia. And that in some areas, it's the standard means of access, rather than the alternative. You can check out their monthly State of the Mobile Web report here. The geographic snapshot from October happens to focus on Southeast Asia; something I didn't know about when I wrote a piece on the market...

Pros: quick and easy picture taking, video capture, plays music without opening the flip, stereo bluetooth, useful external touch screen, sleek design, nice materials.  Cons: price, no music in the background. Storm: Verdict? Disappointing

I really, really want to like Verizon's new BlackBerry Storm.  I want to love it.  Why?  Well, competition is good, and in the year and a half since the original iPhone launched, no other phone has been able to match the performance of its touchscreen or Web browser.  HTC's Touch Pro and G1, and Samsung's Epix and Eternity have impressed me as of late, but none of these devices offers the fingers-on touchscreen experience of...
