Are consumers required to have long distance on their home telephone line?

No, as a consumer you are not required to have long distance on your residential telephone account.  Long distance is an optional service that can be added at the customer's discretion.  If you believe that you may ever need or want to add long distance services to your home phone, I would recommend returning to PhoneDog.com to review the discount service providers available in your area.

Monday, June 30, 2008My provider tells me that they are charging for calls that I make to a conference bridge and that all companies do this. Is this a true statement and why do they charge for some numbers but others fall into the unlimited calling no fee class? Thank you, Jo Anne
