Well, competition is good, and in the year and a half since the original iPhone launched, no other phone has been able to match the performance of its touchscreen or Web browser. HTC's Touch Pro and G1, and Samsung's Epix and Eternity have impressed me as of late, but none of these devices offers the fingers-on touchscreen experience of... It's free and it's live, today, at www.phonedog.com/tv I've had my BlackBerry Storm review loaner for about 10 hours now. I've spent that time unboxing it, typing on it, browsing the Web, searching for GPS-enabled directions, and watching video on it. I also had to take care of a few other things during those 10 hours, so I actually haven't been able to pound on Storm quite as much as I'd like to have. But the embargo is lifting and you're anxious to know what I think of the... over time instead of all in one shot, as is the norm these days. The

I was just wondering if you heard any whispers when the Touch HD will be coming to the US and if so which carrier. From the stuff I've seen I love it but if the wait is too long (say over 6 months) I'll just settle for the Touch Pro. Thanks!
A. I'm amped up about the Touch HD, as well. So far there's no word - or even whispering - about a US carrier.
I know HTC is interested in bringing... Q. hey noah, love the phonedog site i check it daily and all the reviews you do are amazing. most of the videos from CTIA were all on new phones for sprint, which is fine, but i was looking to get a new verizon phone for Christmas and was wondering if anything new was coming out for verizon anytime soon, or if what they have now is pretty much all they're gunna have. if its possible for you to answer this, i would greatly appreciate it. and if... Q. hey first off I would like to say awesome reviews on youtube. Ive been looking at three phones to buy; Nokia N95, samsung instinct and the lg keybo(env2). I am looking for a good internet phone with an awesome mp3 player and easy to text. Do u have any suggestions?
A. Thanks for the kind words - glad you like the reviews! Since you said "Easy to text" I have to ask if you like to use T9 or full QWERTY to text. If you like full... Q. I'm looking forward to buy the Samsung Instinct and before I buy it, I want to know more about GPS, Internet, MP3 for example if GPS, does it come with the phone or they charge extra for it??, and Internet is it free?? or not, and also I want to know how the MP3 works.
I saw a video on Youtube, about this woman getting a 300 page bill from iPhone, which was crazy and got me to forget about buying the iPhone, and plus I don't want to... Q. Hey Noah, love the site. Now if I got the Apple iPhone 3G, my Question is will it stay new and fun and not seem outdated after 2 years. I tend to get bored of phones after a little over a year. Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work on PhoneDog!
A. I think iPhone will stay new and fun because of the App Store - there are new programs available for it every day, and since many of them are free, it's an easy way to make... Q. Hey Noah - I’m looking for some information on the LG Rumor and Samsung Upstage. I’ve seen the videos and they provided me some information. I would like to know some more information on both phones and I’m curious on how texting works on the Upstage. If you can give me some information on the 2 phones that would be great. Thanks
A. Thanks for the message, and for watching the videos. UpStage is a pretty old model at this... Q. Noah, I was extremmely close to buying the iPhone until I saw the Samsung Omnia in your video. looks tight. how cool is it and is it up to par with the beast made by Apple?
A. I've only had a little bit of hands-on time with Omnia but it definitely looks great. Omnia's a Windows Mobile device, so it should be somewhat similar to the HTC Touch Diamond in that you've got Windows Mobile 6 running underneath with a nicer layer of user... Q. Noah, you have very informative videos and think that you are great at your job. I have a question about Sprint's Samsung Instinct. I am fairly efficient with a QWERTY keypad, but I am so much faster on a T9 layout. Is the Samsung Instinct capable of a T9 text entry? I noticed in your YouTube video "Sprint Samsung Instinct vs LG Vu vs iPhone - Long Version " that when you entered the number to text (right past the 10:00 mark), the numbers had... Q. In your instinct vs iphone comparison you said with the Instinct you can download 'over the air' and the iphone you cannot. what does that mean and what does it mean to me in a practical sense? Also, what other limitations would this feature, or lack of the feature, cause?
A. Over the Air downloading means that you can purchase and download songs and video directly to the phone using your cellular connection. Apple limits iPhones to... Q. Hi, I saw your comparisons of the LG Dare and Samsung Instinct and I had some more questions about the two. I have some specific questions for the two phones that I'd like some answers to 1. Which touchscreen is better? Which is more responsive? When you're typing which screen works better? I've heard ppl vouch for both sides so I'd like a good extensive opinion from an actual reviewer. 2. Which browser is better? Because I've... More questions & answers from Noah »Like I said, it's just rumor right now, but it comes from a reliable source with a good track record - esp. with T-Mobile devices. No idea what the time frame might be, except for "2009." My best guess would be sometime around CTIA in April, but that's just a guess. Still, it's very promising, right? Find the answer about ringdroid here http://www.phonedog.com/c... T-Mobile smartphone users are gettin' all the love this week. First came reports that G1s are being delivered across the land to folks who pre-ordered. Now we get wind of an OS 4.5 upgrade for users of the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve. The upgrade, which is available as a free over-the-air update for owners of the T-Mobile Curve 8320, includes support for video capture, HTML Email, Email attachments, and myFaves 1.5 (mostly has to... @Buckys.Fan: The T919 is the T-Mobile USA version of the Tocco, with Quad Band GSM, T-Mobile specific 3G (AWS) frequencies, and other T-Mobile specific features/branding.
@ sleepy and pdusk: Technically I'm under NDA so I can't say what I saw the other day. But this phone looks as good as anything I've seen or heard about coming to T-Mobile, yes. Whether you'd rather have this or Dream or BlackBerry may more come down to personal... It's not an HTC or BlackBerry. So far as I know, those are still on tap and coming to T-Mo -- and may well be better than this one in some people's eyes -- but I'm talking about something different, and it's the best all-around T-Mo device I've ever seen or heard of. So long as you're not a BlackBerry user, that is. As soon as I can say more I will ;-) @Kevin: Here you go - http://www.phonedog.com/c... @John: I can't get a good 3G signal on iPhone at my house - I get a strong voice signal and a strong EDGE signal no problem. I also have WiFi at my house, so the 3G doesn't matter - I can make calls fine via 2G and use the WiFi for data. Actually, my personal phone is a first-gen iPhone so it's EDGE-only, anyway. In any event, I can make calls and use the data just fine for getting stuff done. Sorry if that wasn't clear. You beat me to it, Mikey S! Thanks for the info! Update ... Looks like the E8 will be available starting July 7. @Vito: I'm on it ... fingers crossed. E71 looks pretty sweet for the business user who likes Symbian. More comments from Noah »
