Which wireless carrier do you use, and why?

A few days ago, I posted a simple inquiry on my Twitter feed regarding carrier preferences.  My original question: "Which carrier do you use?"  To my surprise, not only did I receive a score of responses from many users about their carrier of choice, but as an added treat, many sent me comments detailing why they chose one company over another.  Inspired by the great conversation we had on Twitter, I bring my inquiry to everyone on PhoneDog.

Despite mergers and acquisitions over the past few years, we have a great deal of freedom when it comes to choosing our wireless carrier.  So, I'd like to know - what carrier do YOU use, and more importantly, why do you use themBe sure to vote in the poll and leave your comments!  I'll follow up with an article in a few weeks detailing your various responses.  Let the fun begin!

I have Sprint and I love the coverage and the pricing that they bring. Right now they have given out free mobile to any mobile. as of now no one can beat that with a rubber hammer!

Well i have Sprint , and out of all the cell phone carriers that I've had , this is for sure the best one ! Yeah maybe back in the day their customer service sucked , but why keep looking back ? it's time to move on and just forget that . Their service here in Atlanta is Great i get 3G everywhere , i use the navigation quite a lot and it's always a lifesaver when i get lost lol , and from the other carriers that i've had (cingular/at&t , t-mob , verizon , and metro :P) sprint gives me the most services and signal quality for the best price , and now that they launched their any mobile anytime , it's even better than picking just 5 people to talk to . and they have a great line up of phones too ! so i honestly can say that i probably wont be switching out sprint for any other wireless company ever again . ohh and you can upgrade after 1 year ! try doing that on another company .

i have at and t still my contract with them ended september 3. i tried t mobile out but hated the fact everytime i called in they ask you for the last four digs of your social sec number like three times in a call
and they wouldt let me get out of my thirty day evaulation period so easy, ... i found i enjoy NOT being tied to a contract right after the one i had with at and t ended...
i built up credit rollover minutes and i got at and to to give me a BETTER deal than t mobile was offering which was with the g 1 , that had a mandatory data package
making my supposed two year contract 90 bucks a month
i did NOt want to sign up for that so fast
so i decided to hang wiht at and t untill i find something cheaper enough to leave
i ended up getting a better situation then i would have had with t mobile staying where i was
when your at the end of a contract
that is the only time you got some buying/ barganing power
lol

I work for all the companies actually, well more or less still working for T-Mobile. But I love T-Mobile just because I don't travel, I stay inside the city, I buy unlocked phones a lot and it's the cheapest rate plan for what I do. I had VZW and if you are under employee they don't let you switch phones as easily ((lame!)) I don't really trust Sprint yet but I do have a training for the Hero soon..and At&t is way too expensive for the iphone when I can run it off T-Mo cheaper. Plus I have Metro PCS and it's unlimited so why bother caring lol

I have Verizon. I also work for VZW and I see people say no empathy ... that's ridiculous. Everyday I ALWAYS credit atleast $1500+ because we can't really deny people credits when they complain enough. I had AT&T and the iPhone had to go to the middle of my road to send a text (I live 1 road outside of city limits, next road over perfect signal) so I went to Verizon. I commute to work and live in Indiana so I'm driving through cornfields .. never once had no signal and I've never had a dropped call. I have a BB Tour and have had the EnVTouch and HTC Touch Pro 2(just got rid of windows mobile is amazingly awful). My best friend has T-Mobile and if your NOT in a city basically anywhere in the midwest(we travel a lot) he gets absolutely no signal ... with customers I deal with seems like the majority of people who have it live out west. Verizon has worked with me with every issue I've has plus I know the system so I guess that helps. But DON'T say CS sucks because I know for a fact that the call center I work in gives atleast $50,00+ in credits a day. You complain about the PPL rates yet you don't realize you honestly are paying for amazing service and we lose a lot of money crediting to people who complain so bitch at your neighbor who calls in every month because she constantly changes her PPL generating prorated charges and no matter how many times you explain it to her she just doesn't understand if you USE THE SERVICE YOU PAY FOR IT. Given 1.99 p/mgb is expensive then just don't connect to the internet or get a block ... it really isn't that hard.

You can't get upset with people who have bad experiences with VZN.They're answering the questions and being honest.Just because you use and work for them and you don't have issues or how you deal in CS.You can please some but you can't please them all..

I currently use ATT because of the iPhone. I already have the Hero preordered for Sprint though so i plan on cancelling ATT the beginning of next month.

Cricket is a regional carrier that provides unlimited calling and no monthly contract. From what i've read its like Metro PCS.

Cricket is $40 a month for unlimited TEXT, TALK, Longdistance, (some international too) and Internet! And of course that includes voicemail, caller id and all normal things. I live in Cincinnnati I have had ALL the other carriers and this is the only one I don't drop calls or have no signal. For 40 bucks can't beat that!

Virgin Mobile because it's stinking cheap. You have to spend $20 every 3 months. I am getting tired of phones that break within six months, though I'm sure that many customers see this as a benefit.

I'm really enjoying your comments - I'm shocked at how many readers we have that use T-Mobile. I would have guessed AT&T or Sprint. Please keep 'em coming!

Why would you be surprised that there are a lot of T-mobile users? They are almost tied with sprint in number of customers and over the last year and this one are getting an onslaught of fantastic new phones! They were first to adopt android, and i believe will continue their support and have more android phones than any other carrier. Combine that with their customer service, which they have won first place in for like the last seven years, and dirt cheap deals on plans and very nice service, and you have one of the best mobile carriers ever!!
