"G1 = Meh; Android = YAY!"
The good: Android! And a keyboard + trackball! The bad: Silly shape & sliding design, wonky USB port. Summary: ANDROID! This is everything good about the iPhone, on a decent handset! Coming from the iPhone to the G1's physical keyboard, I make practically no mistakes while typing. Thanks to the trackball, I don't really need to zoom in on web pages anymore, and for any complaints about it's native browser, you have options!
