HTC One S Written Review by Sydney
In the past, HTC has been criticized for releasing too many phones that all seemed to be alike with only minor differences between each one. It seemed like every month there was another "superphone" from the Taiwanese manufacturer. While each phone was a great device in its own way, the market saturation became too much for some consumers and HTC appeared to be focusing on quantity rather than quality. In an effort to appease the people and simplify its line-up, the company recently... more...

The HTC One S came into my life about a week ago today. I am very satisfied with the device and cant find a reason to be dissatisfied as of yet, it simply works well. The design is nearly flawless the only downside that has yet to effect me is the battery cannot be removed. I see this as a downside simply because after a year of use I may want to replace or buy an extended battery for the phone as the if the cells don't wear well. Currently the battery life is fine no I'm never worried that my phone is going to die after using it as a mobile hotspot, while running gps and checking facebook constantly. The phone speaks volumes, its very solid and compact but large in a good way, it feels natural to hold and the lines of the device are something to be admired. The display albeit not the best is great in direct sunlight (yes, I know what direct sunlight is as I live in Florida) and the viewing angle as well is very wide. some have complained about pixel density but comparing it to my girlfriends iphone 4s side by side id say my display is represented better overall. Call quality is a big step forward coming from an outdated (still a great phone) T-Mobile G2. I am as well impressed by Sense 4. I was a bit of skeptic when I first purchased the phone but after using it for a week now I can say that I will be keeping Sense 4 on the device until its updated. In previous versions Sense was very slow and filled with nonSense, in this version it seems HTC delivered on their report that they would bring the devices back to the basics.Overall this phone is a great piece of hardware despite the downsides on the spec sheet such as pixel density, I'd say pick one up and try not to be impressed.
