Metro PCS does NOT PAY REBATES!!!

Posted on: May 30th, 2015 by alan59

Metro PCS My Nightmare with a factory rebate. Following is a true story, it is also entertaining and worth the time to read. I hope to hear from Metro PCS’s legal staff soon. Last August (2014) we saw a banner ad in a Metro PCS store window for a “back to school” rebate that looked pretty good. Our phones were outdated and we wanted something newer. 3 New phones for my wife, my daughter and myself. The rebate was for the cost of the phones less taxes and set up fees. So we went to the store near where we live and purchased 3 new phones with a promise of a rebate on each after 3 months of service. We were told we would receive paperwork to file for the refund in 2 weeks to a month from now but would not actually receive the money until we had used and paid for 3 months service. What happened to us: 1. No forms ever came. By mail, by email, or by carrier pigeon. 2. Metro PCS has a rebate help line 1-800-999-6389 which was of no help. They did however email the wrong form to my wife once. Perhaps they tried and this was the best they could do. 3. Customer Service is a long long phone wait that I did not have the patience for so… 4. We went back to the store where we bought the phones with the receipts and paperwork that came with the phones. The store said it is “Metro PCS’s promotion” and we would have to deal directly with them. 5. I called the store back when we were unsuccessful in reaching customer service. They told me the address of a corporate store only about 20 miles away located at 4030 Lavista Road, Tucker, GA 30084. BTW customer service is 1-888-metro8. Give it a try, see what happens. 6. I looked up their phone number and called. There is no way to get a human being! None. Try it yourself, the number is 770-734-4900. 7. So. The wife and I drove on over May 6th (8 months after the phones were bought) and were greeted by a very kind salesperson who said he was named “Biz”. When I explained why I was there he asked me to wait and said his manager would have to be informed and he did not have the authority to give us our advertised and promised refund. Biz came back and said his manager said we bought the phones at a dealer and they would not support the dealer in helping us or honoring this promotion. The example given – and I swear these are his words – if I bought a bad hamburger at one McDonalds I should not expect to return it at a different McDonalds! WHAT! This is a METRO PCS promotion. Not the dealers. The Dealer feels he was just selling what Metro PCS told him what was on special at the time. The poor salesman, Biz, really wanted to help so he called customer support’s 800 number in an attempt to see if they would assist me when his manager would not. You guessed it: Biz gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes or more. Conclusions: In My Humble Opinion Metro PCS will cheat you if they can (In this state it’s called Theft by taking) They have a serious integrity problem. Dealers are not supported properly. Nobody should deal with a company like this that does not have to. At the time we did not know the difference between a dealer and a corporate store. Would it have made any difference? • If you are a Metro PCS customer I want you to know the kind of company you are dealing with. • If you are considering Metro PCS I hope my experience will help you stay away from them. MORE: In 8 months I cannot recall a single instance when I wanted to make a call and service was not available or at any time have I had a call dropped. The company appears to be something that they are not. End. Metro PCS My Nightmare with a factory rebate. Following is a true story, it is also entertaining and worth the time to read. Not at all a good phone...

Posted on: November 2nd, 2008 by Mikey Berrios

The good: Customizable backgrounds and banners. The bad: Lag, Lag, and even more Lag...Summary: I saw this phone on the Metro PCS site and I thought it was very nice so I recieved it as a birthday present. When I first got the phone, the lag wasn't bad. I called a representative and they said that the lag problem was memory issues, so I bought a MicroSD card. Memory must not have been the problem because as time went on the lag got worse and worse. I have now had the phone for 6 months and the lag is so bad that I write a text and 30 seconds later the letters begin to show up. I am very disappointed in this phone. For Christmas, I will be getting the Samsung Instinct which i know will be a better phone. I have a friend who has the Kyocera and their lag isn't as bad as mine, but still lags. Also know that this is my opinion of the phone. If your phone works properly then maybe it's just my phone. Thanks : )

Good for everything but a phone

Posted on: October 2nd, 2008 by van smith

The good: Great camera for this level phone. contacts organized well. The bad: No ability to personalize menus, etc. if i close phone when using bluetooth or when i'm on speaker phone, it ends the call - i can't carry the phone around closed and still be using it on speaker or bluetoothSummary: For the low cost of this phone, it provides great camera, and, if you're willing to shell out more money, you can play music. however, the features for the PHONE itself are lacking. i am going to return it because of the inability to close the phone when i'm using my bluetooth - i need to be able to stick the phone in my pocket and work and still talk. can't do that very well when the phone is open. minor complaints: there are very few ringtones pre-programmed into the phone; the font for text messages is out-dated and ugly; i can't personalize the menu; i have to go through a couple steps to get to my text inbox. finally, the shape of the phone when it's open doesn't fit my face very well. just not all that user-friendly for the phone itself.

Don't Buy.....

Posted on: June 20th, 2008 by John laming

The good: Camera is nice. It gives nice clear pictures and includes flash (not a great flash but good enough)The bad: just about everything else, made me get my ears checked (perfect hearing)Summary: I've had this phone for a couple of months but if I had the money I would have swapped it after the first few days. The speakers are horrible, I keep the phone in my pocket and can never seem to hear it ring until the missed call beep sounds off. If you want to use the MP3 player don't expect to hear it, the speaker is not very loud for that either. it has a video camera but u can only record for 15 seconds. Battery life is awful. Reception is bad. The phone itself is ugly and the screen should be bigger. Also, there's not very much u can customize on this phone (shortcuts, order of items, ect.)

The good: has cute frames 10 to be exact when taking pictures. has flash. most phones dont have flash anymore. very clear camera. the phone looks so clean. nice buttons. mp3 player. easy to use. has a lot of info in the phone. has alarm clock, and a lot of extra features. has good battery life. i think i didnt charge my phone for 2 whole days and it was still on like it was close to dying by not yet. has i think one game i dont play it though. has speaker, blue tooth. everything looks nice it clear. not aThe bad: it wont let you put your music in the phones memory i think only in your memory card so you have to buy ringtones yourself. cant load our own music for ringtones. its kinda expensive but its worth every penny. Summary: i love this phone. nevermind i figured it out as soon as you put your old memory card it just format your memory card. then now i drag everything into the memory card under the folder my music.
