This phone is ok, but you can do better

Posted on: February 6th, 2010 by 392859

The good: Stylish, good call quality, ok internet access, TV works if you want that feature, relatively cheap. The bad: The QWERTY keyboard button on the touchscreen are too small to hit accurately for most people, the scrolling is horrible (opposite of the iphone). It will lock up randomly a few times every day, very annoying b/c you have to remove the battery. Summary: My LG Vu just died, the touch screen stopped responding. Needless to say, this is a pain. I've had it 13 months, one month past the warranty. Did an internet search on Google and discovered that this is very very common. The phone used to freeze up frequently, the touchscreen is more of an annoyance than a convenience. The small touch screen buttons were really frustrating too. I should be more upset that I have to buy a new phone, but I'm actually kind of relieved to be able to move on. I would NOT buy this phone again.

Neat Little Phone

The good: good sound, great pictures, The bad: N/ASummary: i have had this phone for about two days and i like it alot. a lot of people have given bad reviews and i cant seem to find one thing wrong with it. its pretty easy to get used to. it has a full keyboared and also the origonal type and it also has t9 which i find the easiest to use.if you have a really light touch like i do then if you go to the menu, settings, and it will have an icon that says "more" you touch that and you go through this short proccess and it will change to your touch. its very clear and yu can see things really well on it. you can hear really clearly on it. i hope i helped, um all i can say is dont second guess if you want this phone get it you wont regret it

The good: Great TV Service, easy to use, good for beginners. The bad: Breaks vary easily, cheaply made! No GPS, Limited amount of Applications. Summary: I've owned 2 touch screen phones, if you plan to buy a phone on a 2 year contract, consider a touch screen with more applications.

LG VU AND YOU

Posted on: January 22nd, 2009 by 230800

The good: Sharp LCD makes the phone fun to use.The touch screen takes a little time to get use to.Love the T9 texting with the one touch of the number keys. You really need to try it.Reception has been strong and sounds very clear where ever I"ve been. The bad: Internet is not great, but thats not what I use my phone for. Summary: I played with the floor model in the ATT store for a long time before deciding to buy this phone. You really must work with it a lot to learn the features but it is worth it. You can find hundreds of user reviews and many expert reviews on this phone as well as video reviewsfrom cnet, phone dog and others. These reviews and the fact that I could get it for 50 bucks after rebate convinced me to buy it. I'am glad I did

Taken with a grain of salt

Posted on: January 16th, 2009 by 212647

The good: For a pressure touch screen, it registers very well. Battery life is somewhat lacking, but I keep bluetooth and anything not needed off, so it is fairly good when on bare minimum. The possibilities with this phone is great, you just need to have good sources. I myself have different themes (Blackberry, iPhone, Slide, Walkman) so this phone never gets too stale. The phone is very overall sturdy, as I have dropped it multiple times while trying to put it in my pocket, with no cosmetic or mechanicaThe bad: The touchscreen motions are somewhat odd. The scrolling is reverse of most phones. I noticed that if you have a long list on a screen, when you glide, it tends to scroll way to fast. I personally do not like "glossy" phones, as they tend to get dirty quickly because dirt, smudge, and oil likes to cling to things that are shiny. If you didn't sign up for the TV thing, then you also have a pointless antenna (I, however, turned mine into a stylus.) I also do not like the call/call end buttons.Summary: Overall, a sturdy and nice phone. You just have to be patient, give it some time, and do some tweaks here and there in order to customize it and satisfy your phone cravings. LG definately made a winner here.

LG VU REVU

Posted on: December 27th, 2008 by 208995

The good: Easy to use, great touch quality, great camera, and phone is very loud. Love the look and the HUGE screen. Been waiting for this phone for a long time. The bad: You cant touch and drag like on the Samsung Eternity. I would have loved that feature on this phone.Summary: If ya want a great touchscreen phone get this one. The LG VU, it is great for anyone. And if you are worried about the touchscreen and making alot of mistakes, DON"T because you can calibrate it for rhythem, pressure, and accuracy. Overall, the LG VU is a great phone. Thanks.

LG Vu

Posted on: December 25th, 2008 by 208869

The good: The large display is great, especially for user's with impaired vision. The phone vibrates when you touch a key, very helpful for those of us who are new to the touchscreen generation. The screen is very responsive, and battery life is pretty good for a phone with so many features. The bad: The occassional typo, LG has done its best to cram a full keyboard into a 3 inch display, and that creates a few errors.TV service isnt available everywhere. The interface is simple, but it can still take some getting used to - kind of tricky.Summary: The LG Vu is truly an amazing phone, if I had to compare it to any other phone I'd have to say it's sort of similar to Verizon's LG enV2. The touchscreen is pretty responsive and when you touch a key the phone vibrates slightly to let you know that it got the command. Some people have complained about texting through a touchscreen keyboard, and there complaints aren't purely hollow but as with any qwerty keyboard, typos are always possible. Battery life is suprisingly long - I mean you have a touchscreen, a huge display for it to light up, TV, texting, phone calls, that could seriously drain a lot of phones in a flash, but the LG Vu does a pretty good job holding up and a nightly charge is enough to keep you going like the Engergizer bunny. As far as appearances go this phone is definately a hot topic right now - it's slim, and it's chic. Durability? You know it! This phone can definately take a tumble, I've dropped mine 3 or 4 times getting out of my car, 3 out of the 4 times it landed on the touchscreen - still fully responsive.I would recommend this phone to anyone who appreciates a touchscreen, and wants to be able to write messages quickly, but not carry around the bulk of an actual QWERTY phone.

The good: Good cystal sound with music, nice pic and cam quality, looks and feels well built. The bad: battery life is terrible, touch screen stinks! Complicated for beginners, terrible TV service--(maybe thats because of the area im in though)Sim card is a pain to get out if and when necessary. When texting on full keyboard the keyboard has very small letters making is hard to select certain keys, they should have mad it bigger.. Summary: Over all I am very displease with my purchase of this phone. although some features are nice. its just not worth it
