Good not great

Posted on: September 27th, 2008 by Anonymous

The good: This phone looks really good which is one of the reasons that attracted me to buy it. the display is great and it is pretty easy to use.The bad: I didn't like the battery life. it is very short, but it could be because i've had it for almost two years. Summary: Overall, this is a good phone, but you will need to buy new batteries at regular intervals.

Not so much

Posted on: April 21st, 2008 by Jake Blues

The good: Camera is decent. The look is slick. Nice finish. Blue Tooth PIM sync, and file transfer is fantastic with a large SD micro. Voice dial is nice. The bad: Battery life is horrible. Never overcharge the battery as you will get 18 hours of standby after this. Blue tooth device connections have had to be re-added more than once.(headset,PC). Speaker phone only works after a call is started. Access to SD Micro requires you to remove the battery, hence shutting off phone if not connected to power. Not a droppable phone. No music playback controls on the front. VX8300 was much better for that.Summary: I recommend getting a phone with a extended battery. Especially for this one.

Awesome phone

Posted on: November 4th, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: reliable phone, cool features, long battery life for being so slim and having so many features. The bad: Can't think of any...Summary: After trying the chocolate (blah) and the Moto krzr (even worse) I decided to splurge a little and get a good phone. I have only ever had LGs and have had good experiences with them, so I got this one. So far It is by far the best one I have had. Good voice quality, better than the norm ringtones, I really like the front view of the clock...and when you open it it has a neat little show for ya. Im impressed so far and hopefully will stay that way. The number pad is easy to use and large as well.

Solid durable wireless phone

Posted on: July 14th, 2007 by Kevin Robinson

The good: Excellent reception & clarityExcellent design, fit, and finishQuality 2MP camera (though no flash)Solid & durable feelThe bad: A little heavy in front pocketsSummary: I bought 4 of these phones a few days ago. I have tried to put them through all the paces that our family needs. This includes primarily voice calls and texting, with some speaker phone use. We have iPods for music and digital cameras for photos, so those were low on our list of priorities, though we tried those features too. We did not use data services. We wanted excellent call reception and durable sleek phones. The LG 8700s are perfect for our family. Concerns of battery life and heat were non issues - a little warm, but still plenty of power after 2 hour call test.

Very Impressive Package

Posted on: July 2nd, 2007 by Doug Johnson

The good: Very durable and well built; solid hinge; excellent camera; and long battery life. The bad: Music player does not have convenient controls on exterior of phone.Summary: This phone is amazing. It is very easy to operate. Music quality is excellent (with BlueTooth headset). Convenient size. Compared with other phones I've used, this phone has better fringe area signal reception.
