Nextel's iDEN network may not be the most advanced one out there, but the Direct Connect feature that comes with their phones has been coveted for years. So much so that Sprint has held on to the network much longer than made sense. iDEN may be going the way of the Dodo in 2013 , but Sprint is still pushing out devices that use the expiring network.
