THIS PHONE IS A FIRE HAZARD!

Posted on: October 21st, 2006 by Sara Browne

The good: There are no pros for the Motorola V220.The bad: The top of the phone hyper-extends and then the camera stops working. The phone shorts out, becomes extreemly hot to the touch, and melts the battery. The outside gets scraped up very easily. The camera image is very poor. The price is way to high for the phones short life. Summary: I treated my phone with much care. One year after I bought the Motorola V220 phone it shorted out, became extreemly hot to the touch and melted the battery. I am lucky that I found the phone in my purse before it got any hotter and started on fire. This phone is a fire hazard, do not buy it!

The good: Small, flip phone, easy to useThe bad: Hard to navigate thru the menus sometimesSummary: In short, I like the phone, just wish it was easier to navigate thru the menus. But I have had it for almost two years and have had no problems.

It may be old...but so am I!

Posted on: October 4th, 2006 by Barb Taylor

The good: I like everything about it except...the ringtones. There is no normal ringtone, you know, like ring, ring, ring. The bad: I like everything about this phone except the choice of ringtones.Summary: I love this phone. I'm due for an upgrade, but I think I'll stick with this one!

Mototola v220 phone

Posted on: September 25th, 2006 by Kathy Pettine

The good: I have had this cell phone for about 2 years. it takes great pictures and the sound quality great. the v220 is very easy to use and operateThe bad: With the new up-to-date phones today, the v220 would come pretty much in last place. the phone doesn't have many bells or whistles to speak of. the phone is a bit heavy to carry around and a bit bulky. the phone only came with few ringtones and wallpapers.Summary: to sum things up on this phone. it has been a very reliable phone for me. it has never broke, and has been dropped several times. I do like flip top phones to save ware and tare on the screen. It would be nice to have a thinner much lighter phone , but that's ok. It had been a great phone and still going!!!!

Worked better in the UK

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: unlocked, tri-band, basic phone with basic features; I didn't expect professional photography with a camera-phone, anywayThe bad: dropped calls, poor sound quality, low signalSummary: My family bought unlocked GSM phones and SIMs in the UK to be able to stay in touch with each other while visiting cousins in London. We used the phones pretty heavily, as we'd all scatter for shopping, sightseeing, antiquing, etc, and meet back up for dinner. Voice quality and sound while in the UK were wonderful - couldn't even tell we were on mobiles. When I decided to use this phone with Cingular back at home in the States, the signal was low, the sound quality fuzzy or poor, and the calls keep being dropped or won't go through. I do have a newer 64K SIM, and I think that this simply has to do with poor coverage by Cingular - this phone worked well in the past, on other carriers. I hope the free antenna thing actually shows up in the mail and actually works a bit!

Not bad for the short haul

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: Compact, Good photo quality, Nice tone quality on ringsThe bad: Poor reception, phone begins powering off on its own as it gets olderSummary: I have had this model for just over a year. The last couple months, the phone has begun a process of slow death. Mid-call, this phone powers itself off...and, yes, my battery is charged and conditioned. Over the short haul, this was a good, reliable phone. Give it some time and a few good connection hours, and it's bye-bye caller.

Motorola V220

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by Barbara Geiser

The good: Camera flip phone, easy to useThe bad: For older people, the numbers are small and difficult to see without glassesSummary: Overall, I have been very satisfied with this phone. It is very easy to use, seldom have dropped calls. The only drawback to this phone is that I have to charge it almost every night. I don't know if it is just a bad battery or what because my husband doesn't have this problem and he has the same phone. But other than that I have had this phone for 1 year 9 months and that is the only problem.

My Motorola V220

Posted on: September 1st, 2006 by Sandy Paloma

The good: long batter life, caller id on outside of phone, assign ringtones, easy to use.The bad: It is a picture phone but takes ok pictures, have to hold real still. Cant keep many pics on the phone.Summary: This phone is good for the beginner that had never used a cell phone before. Its a nice small size and the battery can go for a few days before you really need to charge it. Comes with a lot of good preloaded ring tones. It is web enabled and you can use it to text message. When taking pictures with the phone you have to hold it as still as possible and the brighter it is the better the picture. The caller id is located on the outside of the phone, so you can see who is calling before you pick up. This is my first flip phone and I like it. I recommend it. Ive also dropped it a few times and it still works great. I had this phone for about 3 yrs.
