solid phone

Posted on: July 7th, 2009 by pat d

The good: durable, easy to useThe bad: hinge is slightly loose, finish will eventually chip offSummary: I'm on the water a lot and I needed a phone that could take some punishment. (went through 4 razors in 2 years) A friend recommended this phone and boy has it worked out. It has been wet countless times, dropped almost daily and it still works fine. Battery life is definately on the weak side, and after @ 3years the matte finish is starting to chip off. overall solid phone

Bad phone

Posted on: January 12th, 2009 by Seriouly Disgusted

The good: I live in a rural area. This phone does not have good reception. It breaks-up and the other party cannot hear you. I had to send the phone back to the company two times. I need a phone to talk to people, not for looks. The bad: It flips? Summary: I had a Nokia and I was able to receive a signal almost anywhere, even when other people could not. Not true with this phone. I have had the phone for 18 months and I cannot wait for my contract to end.

Good for a starter phone

Posted on: November 15th, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: Durable, unique design, easy to useThe bad: basic, no bluetooth, no camera, short battery life, hinge is a little looseSummary: This phone is a good phone, but don't expect the whole fancy features you would find on other phones. If you want a phone to talk and text, this is the perfect phone for you, but get a higher up phone if you want to do pics and multimedia and bluetooth. Also, the battery life is very short, so dont talk very long. I get about 1.5 to 2 hours talk time before i'm in the red, so not for the avid talker.

Back to basics phone with sleek styling

Posted on: October 18th, 2006 by OSCAR GARCIA

The good: Cool external display (looks like a PEBL), tactile soft-feel exterior, decent standby/idle battery lifeThe bad: No bluetooth (who wants a Star Trek headset anyway?), no camera, not enough accessories available (yet).Summary: Switched from Nextel (Motorola i580) to this very basic Motorola W315 (Alltel). Although I do miss the tank-like, feature-packed i580, I wasn't using the technology as much as I thought I would, so I got the W315 and switched to a less-expensive carrier. I love the fact that it resembles the Motorola PEBL (except for the external antenna and the lack of any techie stuff). It has a very tactile feel to it, and you can have the external display show the time vertically or horizontally. The buttons on the phone are easy to read and not too close together. The speakerphone is very loud, and the earpiece is as well. Battery life is good.
