Still In LOVE With This Little Phone

Posted on: January 24th, 2010 by Valerie Erwood

The good: LONG talk time....as long as 5 hoursSturdy...dropped it a bunch of timesThe bad: Not supported by Metro PCSSummary: I picked up this little phone back in 2006 on eBay, and only stopped using it when I was trying to save money so switched to Metro PCS. I've had 2 phones with this current provider and hated them both. I had to buy a backup battery because I got sick and tired of running out of juice and having no time or place to plug in and wait. My old Nokia carried me through one convo with a friend one day for nearly 5 hours! I still have the phone and I'm going back to AT&T now that they have an unlimited no-contract plan that I can afford. Yeah it doesn't have a camera...so what? I HAVE a Kodak and don't need that junk on my cell phone crowding up my memory and eating all my battery juice. Nor do I want to chat or email anyone. I'll wait til I get home thanks. It's enough that I have a phone attached to my ear half the time these days. At the end of the day...I am still in love with this little phone! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Nokia 6061

The good: Looks goodThe bad: Hasn't worked since I got it!Summary: This phone hasn't worked since the day I got it. It's been sent in for repair and worked for 2 weeks before it quit again. I have to take out the battery numerous times, put it in and then it'll work for maybe 2 or 3 weeks at a stretch. Right now I've been without a phone for 2 weeks because it doesn't work AGAIN!

The good: durable. dropped it a gazillion times and it keeps on tick.... working. gave it a shower and overheated it on an oven range (no hair dryer available) drying it out and thought i'd melted the screen and it recovered nicely and you wouldn't know it. i use it moderately for phone calls only and after getting used to its characteristics (see cons) it's a solid phone. The bad: the red light incoming call indicator is pointless to me as i'd rather have a window indicating who's calling like my motorola phone had. can't assign individual ring tones to single callers. you can assign them to groups but not as useful or creative for me.Summary: not a bad phone but not great - solid. you won't impress your friends or enemies if you tie your ego with your cell phone.

Nokia 6061

The good: the speaker is nice when it actually works. The bad: Everytime we try to select a ring tone it says it is not available, I then have to turn the phone off and then back on for it to display the ring tones again. Also sometimes even when it is set for ring and not vibrate sometimes it will just beep and the red light will blink. This phone is constantly doing this even when the ring tone is on. Had to take it back and get it fixed numerous of times. Summary: If you want a phone that is compatible to a children's play phone, pick this one because it barely works most of the time and I am going tomorrow to trade it in for a different phone.

Great Phone

Posted on: April 25th, 2007 by Jen Richardson

I love this phone. I don't need all the bells and whistles. It rings loud and the little red bar on the outside of the phone lights up so you can tell it's ringing in a loud environment. It's much more user friendly than some of the phones I've had in the past.

Nokia 6061 Flip Phone

Posted on: August 21st, 2006 by Rita Schwenninger

The good: I have used Flip Phones for the last 15 years and I prefer that feature. The bad: It is difficult to consistantly get the menu you want. For example, you must be connected to be able to put the phone on hands free, but the buttons are not clearly marked.Summary: I dislike clutter, the layout of the Nokia is like a cluttered desktop on a computer. I am not interested in Text Messages, Games, and other silly extras. There seems to be no way to delete these. I want my address book and my list of calls received, made and missed and perhaps the Voice mail could be an icon. That would suffice for me!! I use my phone for telephone calls, not the rest of the possible media uses.

Nokia cell 6061

Posted on: April 15th, 2006 by Leslie Barnhart

This Nokia flip phone is well made and works every time. The signal strenght is stronger thant the Motorola Razor I had. The speaker hands free is excellant. My only suggestion is to make it a bit thinner closer to a Razor profile.
