Pretty good phone

Posted on: April 19th, 2007 by Connie Lawson

The good: Sync'ing with Outlook; ease of use; camera/video; speaker phone; alarm; customizable Go To menu for most often used items. The bad: No longer top of the line. Old version doesn't support Bluetooth, but the newer version does.Summary: I bought this phone before it was revamped for Bluetooth and before the new Razor and all that jazz. It's a solid phone and I'm still very happy with it. The camera takes about average pics, as far as camera phones go, but I find this one very easy to use.I also love Nokia's PC Suite that you can download for free. It allows you to sync your phone with the Contacts in Outlook, which makes switching over to this phone a breeze if you are an Outlook user. The ability to customize the quick Go To menu has saved me a lot of time, as all the items I use over and over again are just right there. I don't have to dig through the menu for them. I put my Silent and Normal profile there, as well as Infared mode for sync'ing and the Alarm Clock, which I now use all the time. So, battery and antenna power? I'd rank them around average / expected. The battery lasts a lot longer than my last phone, which was horrible. The antenna power is pretty decent, but who couldn't use more?My only regret is having the older version of 6101 and not being able to use those cool Bluetooth headphones. There is a more recent version of 6101 that does support Bluetooth.

Nokia 6101

Posted on: October 11th, 2006 by Shari Halstenberg

The good: Seems to get good reception!Takes a beating and keeps on ringing! (I've dropped mine SEVERAL times... even had the battery fly out twice!) and it still works great! The bad: Inside display screen is scratched from the keypad. Simply carring it in my pocket shouldn't rub the keypad against the screen that bad. The battery hasn't lasted long... it simply won't hold a charge more than 2 days now where it was origionally 3-4 days. The displ;ay isn't as clear as the Samsung phone I did have, but being able to display 2 different pictures is fun.Summary: We have a family plan & my husband's mini screen shorted out but our carrier sent a replacement quickly & we haven't had any problems with it or the other 2 phones like it we have. The camera phone is fun and it's got video capabilities. (Which my 7 year old loves!) All in all it's a pretty good phone.

Good phone, but could be improved upon

Posted on: October 4th, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: I like the way it has shortucts that can be customized to the way I want them, the battery seems to go forever on a charge, and it takes decent pictures. The bad: There isn`t much memory in the phone, so it is limited on pictures, video, and ringtones added. Buy a cable for sure. Also, while Nokia has LOUD ringers, the earpiece is very quiet; you should get a headset to help. Last, the screen will get scratched by the keys (as with many flip phones), get a protector for the screen. Summary: So overall, the phone is very good, but if you drive a diesel truck, you better pull over to be able to hear anything. Get a protector for the screen while it is still new, and a cable to upload and download fun stuff... the very well made software to do that is FREE from Nokia.

Good value

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: The longest lasting battery out there, which means less worrying about having to charge it or it going dead. The bad: Little memory for functions on the phone such as video and pictures.Summary: Nokia has figured out how to optimize a middle of the line product for people who realize the novelty of the latest gadgets and just want something with the expected features without the hyped one. This phone is reliable, durable (I've accidently drop-kicked the thing and it kept going, don't ask me how) and fairly customized according to the user. Bottom line, if you want an inexpensive phone with the expected features and performance, this is the one.

Nokia 6101/6102

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Linda Remines

The good: Very easy to understand how to use. Sound quality is great. The bad: I have not found any cons. I am very satisfied with the phone.Summary: The Nokia 6101/6102 can be answered by opening the phone which is a great feature, especially when driving. It has the capability of enlarging the text of the contact list so I am able to see the names without my glasses. This too is helpful when driving. It is small and fits nicely in the pocket of my slacks. I highly recommend this phone because it is so easy to use. Oh, and I love the camera!
