"I-WHO? I-WHAT?"

The good: Attractive design with beautiful screen resolution;
Solid build;
Good call quality (phone/headset/speaker);
Responsive touchscreen;
Easy menu navigation

The bad: Proprietary charger/headphone jack;
5MP camera doesn't seem much better than my previous 1.2MP;
Weak camera flash

Summary: I am a big fan of Samsung phones, and the Behold did not disappoint when it came to appearance and ease of use. With the influx of all these "smartphones", I guess I am one of the few who just wants a phone to be a phone! I don't need my phone to play music or search the web, though they are nice features to have for backup purposes. I have other devices for these things, and I don't like all my gadgets in one place because I don't want to be totally without if that one universal gadget is lost, stolen or broken. Also, I don't really want to search the net on a 3" or even 4" screen and certainly don't want to pay an additional $25-$35 a month for a data plan to do so - it's just not that serious. In the end, I didn't WANT a smartphone, so the "cons" of no Wi-Fi and no hot swapping were not cons for me. With this phone, I'm able to have the basic features I want with the latest touch-screen technology in a phone that turns heads.

For what I want the phone for (talking and light texting), I can do very well with the Behold, and I can do it in style! On a few calls, I did notice that I could hear my voice echoing, but it was rare. The menus are very easy to navigate, and I was able to use the phone right out of the box (though I do plan to read the manual to find any features that I may have missed). I listed the proprietary jack as a con, not because I want to use standard headphones or two peripherals at once, but because all of my previous phones are Samsungs, and I think it's sad that I can't use any of their chargers or accessories with this phone. I feel like changing the jack design every year is a way for them to make money from people purchasing new accessories, and that just irritates me to no end! Aside from that, my Behold is a joy to use.

As we all know by now, the price with 2 year contract and rebates is $149, but if you know you're a gadget hound who will be wanting a new phone next year, I recommend that you only get a 1 year contract extension. It's only $50 more, but that beats having to wait 2 years before you can get a new discounted phone, or paying full price for the new hotness that you KNOW is gonna come out in 2009.

** yeah, I copied this from my posting on another site. I didn't feel like typing it all over again. **
