This was my first smartphone my girlfriend surprised me with it. The first year I was surprised at how different every thing is compared to my old LG Env 3 the battery life was significantly lower but I soon got used to it realizing that at the time the 8 hours I was getting with constant data use was about average in the smartphone world.
After owning my Fascinate for about a year Jelly Bean had come out and I started looking in rooting the phone and getting jelly bean. I succeeded and found that my battery life actually was longer the first day with the phone rooted I got close to 10 hours off the battery before the phone died. With heavy data usage. I'm coming up on two years now and my phone is still going strong.

HOWEVER before the root and even during the phone has its ticks. It does freeze up if you start using to much ram or cpu. Before the root that was more of a problem but it has gotten better after the root. So if your still looking at this phone which I can't think of why you would be its almost 2 years old now. It's a great first time smartphone with a good battery life considering how old it is.
