"Ratings based off today's smartphones (3/5/13)"
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the most anticipated smartphone in 2011-2012. It inspired many OEM's previous flagship device and it was the mark of a milestone in the tech world. The display, at its release, was superb. However in today's world where 1080p displays are at the brink of being standard, it is mediocore. I suppose its the pentile pixel matrix that makes it kind of hard for text to be crisp, coupled with the fact that its a Super Amoled HD display, in stark contrast to the IPS LCD... more...

"Not the newest phone out but I still really like it "
I've had the galaxy nexus international for about a year now. I'm a teenager so I don't get a phone every few months. I was thinking about upgrading to the nexus 4 but my mom didn't let me so instead I got a nexus 10. The display is very good clear and saturated without being overly saturated. There device looks really sleek with its on screen buttons. There are plenty of apps on the app store like doodle jump, angry burds , and dead trigger. I don't do a lot of calling on it I mostly text but... more...

"Great, but with drawbacks"
Don't get me wrong-this phone's drawbacks don't stop the Gnex from being the best phone on the market. The display is mediocre, depending on which one you get. Mine was defective, getting it replaced. I'll edit and give it a 4 if my new one is fine, Battery life remains mediocre. It has great form factor, and the hump on the bottom makes it comfortable to type with. For VZW users, root, unlock BL, and install CM for 4.2.1

"is a great budget device for those willing to carry a extra battery"
The device gets fast updates, is competitively priced and offers not so old specs. The operations of the user interface is fast and fluid and, is a great device to root because of how super easy it is to unlock the boatloader, for those who are scared of bricking their device. Lastly the only downside for me was the OK battery life, that won't impress road runners but if you only use the device lightly to mid use you will just make a day. So if you carry extra batteries normally but want a... more...

"Great device, now with 4.1.2"
Battery Life was a bit of an issue, however, with the last update to 4.1.2 The GNex was again like a fresh new device. For a 1 year old phone, it's still one of the best (After the nexus4) Devices out there... and for the price it has, it's just unbelieveable.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Written Review by Taylor
Through all of the hundreds of Android phones that have released in the past year, the Galaxy Nexus is easily one of the most highly anticipated and notable that we at PhoneDog have had a chance to review. It's big, slim and stylish, and it comes packed with some of the best specifications we've seen in a handset to date. Officially, you can only purchase it through Verizon in the United States, but through other resellers, you can purchase an unsubsidized, unlocked GSM version that... more...
