Sanyo SCP-5300 OK, but outdated

Posted on: August 5th, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: Has a nice design. Can take pictures. Colorful and bright screen. Gets decent reception. Can upgrade the firmware. The bad: Earpiece volume is not good. The outer surface scratches easily. No speaker phone. Can't play MP3s. Not enough memory. Takes low-quality pictures.Summary: This phone is not too bad. It was one of the first phones that I knew of that could take photographs, but now compared to other phones, the quality of pictures is bad. The silver color and design is good, but it scratches quite easily. The phone feels durable, though - not cheap and flimsy. A big problem is that when you are at a noisy place, you can have trouble hearing what the person on the other end is saying, but that can be helped by upgrading the firmware. However, the main problem is that it's outdated. It doesn't offer the features that new phones have, like recording videos or playing MP3s. And it doesn't hold much data. For the 3+ years that I've had it, I would say it's a good phone. But although it was good/great at one time, it just can't compare with the new phones of today.
