Power Cycling Problem

Posted on: June 5th, 2011 by W Denham

The good: A cool rugidized phone that does not require a data plan. The bad: Can hardly see the display in bright sun even with the brightness set to maximum.Phone will shut down on its own.Needs at least a 4 megapixel camera.Summary: There is a problem with this phone where it will shut down and the only way to get it to power on again is to momentarily remove the battery. I returned the first phone thinking that this was just a problem with that particular unit however the second phone does the same thing. I emailed Kyocera and they replied that they are aware of the "power cycling problem" and are investigating but no other info was given. I followed up on this email a month later but they have not replied. I would not purchase this phone until Kyocera fixes this problem.

Not for me.

The good: Nice look, compact and many featuresThe bad: Not reliable enough for my needs.Summary: Just returned my Taho and re-instated my previous phone. The Taho would freeze or go black time after time, even after bringing it in for "repair". The only solution was to remove the battery, put it back and turn the phone back on. Sometimes it work work without fail for a few days, then if you use data, text or navigation the problem would return.
