Re: Open Platforms: A few days with the Nokia E71

what up noah, i have the unlocked e71 running tmobile like u i believe. of course the phone lets u see flash content including youtube vids and g4tv.com etc. i have 2 aol accts setup in the messaging. if u select CONNECT in the options and leave it connected via tzones or wifi youll get ur emails in real time. or u can have it set to check every 2 hrs or so. the fm radio only works with the headset, u can play it on loudspeaker thru the options as long as the headset is plugged in (kinda stupid). the Download menu has some interesting app to DL including Joikuspot which turns ur phone into a wifi spot 4 anyone to use but being on tzones its kinda pointless. AND some 3rd party app Ive downloaded are google maps, tinytwitter, opera mini(flash content doesnt show), and for I.M. ive used Ebuddy(works on tzones & wifi),slick(only works with wifi) and Fring(works only on wifi) which combines all your IM apps into one and ur able to make skype calls(no video) free. and LAST i downloaded MOBIOLA trial version from handango.com, they have 2 separate apps: one to convert youtube video URLs, dvds & any other movie files from ur computer straight to ur phone which is sweet. The other lets you use ur e71 as a webcam. i havent tried the webcam app yet. so far that everything Ive discovered with the E71. Anything else you find hit me up.ENJOY. twitter.com/nfnt

Re: Two new Samsungs from Verizon

I'm sorry if I came off as rude, I really don't care and I was bored at the time that i wrote the comment and I said to myself "hey why not bug the phonedog team with something meaningless like this" but really keep up the good work

Re: Bold vs Touch Pro vs G1 - Live on PhoneDog TV Episode 1

the bold or the g1 will win because those have the most features.....but more so the g1 because of its fantastic browser....the bolds browser is not better than the tmobile g1.....go tmobile g1!

    Re: At a Glance

Have a iphone and a G1. So enthusiastic, so disappointed. Constant crashes, terrible battery life, and the headset is comical. What, did they toss in one of those $2 China specials? Worst headset I have EVER used. And it has a crappy proprietary connector!?! In fact, the keyboard pretty much sucks, too, along with general poor build quality. That adds up to a deal-breaker for me. Love Android, as I expect Google can make it stop crashing soon enough. Apple is doomed, if Google folks stay focused on this. Hate the phone. Never touched a HTC phone that I liked. And I have tried just about every one they put out in the last two years. Pretty much all the same...lousy phone, decent pda, never worth the money/contract. Please oh please put Android on better hardware! I'm very eager to ditch my stupid, crippled iphone, and my stupid, evil carrier.

Re: Screenshots and thoughts: Firefox mobile

Currently, neither are supported. Other than the non-mobile Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, the only platform this alpha version is officially compatible with is the Maemo software of the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. See the release notes here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fennec/1.0a1/releasenotes/ There are some technical and legal limitations regarding the spread of Fennec, which you can read about here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13505_3-9967841-16.html However, that article is four months old, and things change quickly. I can't research this too thoroughly at the moment, but there will be another post about Fennec sooner or later. I don't have an iPhone to test with. I do have a G1, so I will definitely be following Fennec's status in that regard. I think Mozilla would have to release a more humble mobile browser, like Opera has done with it's Mini, to tackle the LG VU. I'm unaware if anything like this is in the works. I don't follow the developer threads closely enough to know much about potential areas of development. Firefox was quick to support the three major operating systems in the desktop market, and I'd be shocked if there weren't some attempt to get Fennec on as many varied phones as possible. I would *not* be shocked if major players played proprietary defense. When there is news, we will have it.
