Re: BlackBerry Touchscreen: Verizon Wireless confirms the Storm is on the way

Hey Noah, I noticed that the Verizon Storm Website, www.verizonwireless.com/storm, added a link today to a promotional video clip about the phone. It's basically just a rep showing the phone to various people on the street and pointing out some of its features--especially the "clickable" touchscreen. Once or twice, he says, "it's coming out soon;" but that's all he says in that regard. There's not really any new info divulged, but it's certainly worth checking out if you're anxious to see this thing for yourself . . . like I am.

Re: Rumors: Verizon getting Touch Diamond in October, possibly in white

VZ Navigator, best GPS software on the market?! You must be a Verizon sales rep to say that with a straight face! I have tested quite a few GPS mapping programs, including VZ Navigator, TomTom 6, Live Search, and Garmin. VZ Navigator doesn't even come close to any of them! It's entry-level, at best. Part of the reason for having a non-proprietary OS like Windows Mobile is that we are supposed to be free to install/use third party apps (such as GPS mapping software). Even if VZ Navigator was as good as Verizon touts it to be, just a few months of it's monthly charge would pay for a on-time perpetual license on TomTom 6 or Garmin, and Windows Live Search is completely FREE (assuming you already have unlimited data). My ultimate opinion: disabling the GPS stifles the potential of phones like this and is a sleazy, wasteful way for Verizon to squeeze more money out of us!

Re: Rumors: Verizon getting Touch Diamond in October, possibly in white

Oh, and don't forget . . . Verizon will disable the GPS for everything but their own proprietary, pay-per-month/use VZ Navigator! Pretty shiesty, don't you think?

    Re: Video: Samsung Innov8 i8510 Hands-On

Running Symbian, huh? Well, I guess we know it won't be compatible with any of the CDMA carriers then! Damn!

Re: HTC Victor: Touch Diamond and Touch Pro Coming to Sprint and Verizon

Why does Verizon always throttle back on the specs of their phones?! It seems that they consistently have lower camera resolutions, processor speeds, etc. than their Sprint/T-Mobile/AT&T counterparts. If the specs on these new HTC's are correct, Verizon's version will be half the phone as its Sprint brother. Why?!!!!
