I live right outside of San Francisco and I'm obsessed with all things tech and automotive. My Android phones are always rooted, and my car is always getting new parts. The rest of the time, I'm playing video games.

The HTC One and Moto X are both fantastic devices, with a few shortcomings. Whether it be software, price, or size, they have something that makes them flawed to me. But either way, they're fantastic phones.

And of course, in fifth place comes the beloved Galaxy Note II. Still a competent contender a year after release, the Note II holds up surprisingly well to age and still runs great. Getting this older phone on a budget may be better than many new phones.
