I've had the chocolate for about 18 months and i'm sick of it. I'm switchng to the enV 2, but i slid it up and down to much and it broke into 2 pieces. when i press the back button on the phone it starts dialing #84 the charge adapter where you put it in on the phone, broke off. You can change the sensitivity level of the touch pad but it is still eithr to sensitive or not sensitive enough. When you talk to someone on it your face touches the pad and it will go to different menus. Ths phone has terrible battery life and the speakers are not good at all. the phone isn't easy to use.The phone had good servie when i first got it and i could get service anywhere and after about two or three months it all went down hill. Overall this is terrible phone i would reccomend to not get it

The Chocolate is a new elegant look with a sliding keypad that is great. You can listen to music from your computer onto this cell phone. only problems encountered were battery life is not so great, and this is my 2nd chocolate phone because of the same display malfunction. Other than that, I would choose this phone over any Razor or touch screen phone.

Blackberry 8830 in Red

LG SHINE in Red

Unfortunatly Not Going The Way Of The Symbian OS Like The Sony Ericksson. Flash or lack there of and needing to catch light from another source which can be a pain at times..
SUMMARY
I dont know what everyone is complaining about, i go through approx. 5 phones a year at least if not more. This has to be the most functional phone i have had to date. Not to mention if you get a tad bit into the inner workings of your phone like i do myself (which is why i suspect i go through so many phones) get the USB adapter for it and BITPIM the hell outta that thing, modify applications, add new software etc... it makes the use of the phone alot more interesting. Just A Thought=]~

SUMMARY
Too delicate - the battery charger jack came out of the phone. If you're checking voice mail, or talking to someone, your fingers are right on the side keys and it just starts going through menus while you're trying to carry on a conversation.
Just not meant to be used.

Did you guess the iPhone or maybe the Chocolate by LG? Both would seem likely contenders to take the top spot, but unfortunately they didn't even make the top three!The infamous Motorola Razr V3, yes the original version out sold all other consumer models to take the top spot for the third quarter. Part of its staying power has to be attributed to the fact most of the carriers offer the V3 for free with new service.

Motorola actually faired well having four models make the top ten list, while LG took three spots. Even with having such a presence, Motorola still only manages $80 profit per unit sold. To put that in perspective, Apples iPhone rakes in a whopping $400 per unit!

As more 3G enabled phones are released during the fourth quarter (especially from Samsung) we should see some of the names and rankings change dramatically.

1. I got the phone 10 months ago and the battery no longer keeps a charge. I practice good battery life skills: mostly charged but will drain it once a month. I've had other phones that can keep a charge for years. This one didn't even make it a year. I'm needing to buy a new battery.

2. Depending on the environmental conditions, the phone will call all by itself. I will open it up and then it will either call the last person who I called or called me or it will call the first address in the contacts. I'm sure Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago, IL is getting sick of my phone calling them once a day without me knowing.

3. The whole touch thing takes a lot of getting used to and it's not worth it. My wife has buttons on her phone and now I have button envy.

4. The camera is almost impossible to whip out and get a fast photo. It just doesn't fit in your hand well.

5. I like the sliding feature and the GPS. The GPS system's not too bad for a phone.

6. I don't have huge fingers but I don't have twigs. It's very difficult for me to speed dial while holding down a button. It takes too long.

Please don't waste your $ on a chocolate phone. Just go get an iPhone.

PROSThe phone is cute and easy to use. I caught on to the uses really quickly. Its touch sensors are set to your liking. The calls are pretty clear.

The Green one I bought in March i had to get a new one in June and July and its Aug and i have to do it again. The phone's memory is crazy it doesnt hold as much as it should for all the features. now when i look at my pictures my phone cuts off and back on again. the previous two wouldnt come back on so i lost all my numbers, pictures, and ringtones...that sucks

Overall, i like this phone. I love how it comes in my favorite color...pink. I just dont like how the vibrate stopped working. It has a lot of internal memory which is cool. The music player has really good loud volume and sounds great... you can also change the setting depending on what style music you are listening to, in order to make it sound better!

Reports have surfaced that Verizon will be selling the LG VX8550 music phone staring July 9, at a price of $99 with a two-year service agreement. This reminds-me-of--Chocolate phone is said to be available in black, "blue mint," and "black cherry," and sport a slider form factor with front-mounted music controls. Verizon is also said to be readying a reduced-cost music essentials kit - memory card, Bluetooth headset, and a few other goodies - for the launch.

PROSTouch pad is quick and easy to use. Long battery life. shortcuts on sides of phone make it even more easier to find what you are looking for! the music player is great! everything about this phone is awesome! but the camera....

Camera has no flash. kind of hard to take a picture, if your hand isn't really steady, the picture will come out all warped. only complaint here is about the camera.
SUMMARY
If you're using a mini sd card, make sure you transfer the files to the phone, if you don't, the battery life will drain because the phone will constantly read from the card. This is the reason why I think so many people are having complaints about the battery life. I use my phone very often and talk for at least and hour or more a day, i have gone 2 at least days without having to charge it.

ive had my chocolate for about 5 months now. i loved it for the first 2 months. but the past 3 have been horrible. my battery dies extremely fast and i charge it every night. it randomly shuts off when im talking to someone. if im using it for more than 10minutes it shuts off and wont turn back on. i then have to take the battery out for about a half an hour. then when i put it back in if im lucky it will turn back on and over half the time it shuts back off as soon as i try to do something with it. it turned all my pictures into white screens and now if i even try to look at my pictures it restarts my phone. my contacts have randomly been deleted and it changes they names to weird symbols. it is hard to understand the person i am talking to because it either echoes or makes their voice crack. this phone is NOT worth your money. any other phone would be better than this one!

I'm on my second chocolate. Returned the first one when the music player kept locking up. Second one does the same thing - apparently its DRM related, but no one at Verizon knows what to do about it. The touch pad is a joke. Most of the time the buttons either fail to work at all or lock up after one or two clicks. I have to close the slider and start over. When they do work, they often send the menus continuously scrolling - again, leading me to close the slider and start over. Others have mentioned this, the random calling "feature." Open the phone it calls the last person who called you; very very annoying. Overall, this phone has been nothing but an expensive frustration.

The LG Chocolate has an awesome look on the outside. But overall, I wouldn't recommend this phone unless someone is purchasing it based on looks alone. Reason being is that the touch sensitive buttons located on the front of the phone causes the phone to randomly call the last person that was called on the phone. Also, the durability of the phone is not very realistic. I'm not saying that phones should withstand concrete or water, but phones should withstand normal storage such as pockets. The slight pressure of a front pocket when sitting down can crack the inside screen of the phone and that is not covered under warranty.

I have had this phone for only a couple of days but I am wondering how I was without it. It is so sleek looking, everybody stares at it when i walk to work. I love the touch keypad which was a lot easier to use than I expected. The speakerphone is so handy, I sound like a dork but it is the first time i have had a phone with it so I am going crazy with the speakerphone. I am so pleased with the phone that I would definitly recommend it to any body. I will absolutely get another version of this phone when it comes out (after my three year is up).

First, the reviewer DOESN'T KNOW what he/ she is talking about. I'm almost certain that this person mixed up between the KG 800 and this one VX8500.

Let me point out the following:
1)It support bluetooth stereo.
2)It has expandable memory upto 2GB.
3)3G, EDGE??? What are you talking about!!!
It's a CDMA phone. It doesn't need EDGE,
It has EVDO which is FASTER THAN EDGE.

Get your facts straight. People are reading your review and hope to have a clear understanding about the product at the end. But in this case, you confuse the heck out of them.

Keys are too sensitive and I do not have the option of changing the sensitivity level with Rogers as Fido users have! sooooo annoying!
95% of the times I try to access my voicmail it says my password is incorrect and I need to punch in my password numerous times (max 3X per call) then I need to call back and repeat password until finally at some point it allows me access! On screen it shows correct code this is due to sensitivity level of keys!!!! OMG sooo annoying!

I Haven't tried all the features yet so can't comment much more than I already have... Overall experience is not satisfactory!
