does it support instantmessaging. yes it does i know. but also live messenger and yahoo and aim? or just a basic one from nokia

For those that must have the latest gadget, Nokia is throwing us a bone and allowing us to purchase the E75 at $100 off of the regular price this weekend. Regularly $529.99, the deal drops the device to $429.99 - still pricey, but a bit better than the original "early adopter" price. The only problem? The similarly equipped Nokia E71 is included in the $100 weekend markdown, bringing its price to $289.99.

With that price difference, the question begs to be asked: is the Nokia E75 worth the extra $140?

Noah called it - as of today, the S60 QWERTY Nokia E75 is available from the company's website, and will be available (we presume, at least) in Nokia's company-owned stores shortly. Offering a 3.2 megapixel camera, a-GPS, microSD card slot, and a 2.4-inch QVGA (320x240) display, the device seems to be a great compliment to the Nokia E71. Furthermore, the phone is the first to use Nokia's new E-Mail solution, allowing personal users to set up their accounts. In the US, the device will work on AT&T's 3G service, whereas T-Mobile users will be able to use it on EDGE only (due to varying 3G frequencies).

As a side note, I am not a big Nokia fan (never preferred the OS), however I have been very impressed by both this device and the Nokia E71. Check out Noah's review of the Nokia E75, as he points out some pros and cons that may be crucial when it comes to purchase time.

Nokia launched a cool little smartphone with a horizontal-sliding QWERTY board ... think Rant or Rumor but a full-on smartphone with Nokia's dressed-up design. Noah checks out the E75 live from Barcelona.

Nokia just launched two smartphones and a bunch of services at their MWC 2009 press conference here in Barcelona.

As expected, Nokia took the wraps off of the E75 horizontal slider. An S60 device, the E75 features a dialing keypad on the front and a slide-down full QWERTY thumboard. The E75 will ship with Nokia Messaging pre-installed and also adopts the E71's Work/Home dual mode system for separating office and personal Email, calendars, and other data. The device will ship next month for 365 Euros unsubsidized, and can be pre-ordered today online.

Nokia also launched the E55, a compact sibling to the popular E71 smartphone. Also an S60 phone, the E55 sports a SureType-style compact QWERTY board and is thinner and lighter than the E71. Nokia claims a full one month of standby time for the device, which will be available this summer for 265 Euros unsubsidized.

And then there's the Ovi Store, which is part of the "Hey, it's 2009, let's all launch app stores!" movement that's sweeping the land. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.
