bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless technology used to create a Personal Area Network (PAN) capable of transmitting data between low-power devices over a limited range. Bluetooth has become a popular technology in the mobile phone world primarily because it's perfect for connecting a phone to a wireless headset for hands-free calling. The latest Bluetooth protocols also support stereo audio, which means that next-generation cell phones may include digital audio players that connect wirelessly to Bluetooth stereo headsets. Bluetooth is also used to connect cell phones to PCs for file transfers and software upgrades, and to Bluetooth-equipped cars for hands-free calling over the car's audio system. What is "stereo" Bluetooth? I know what Bluetooth technology is, but wondered if stereo Bluetooth was any different?
A. Stereo Bluetooth means that the phone can send stereo audio to a headset in addition to mono (regular) audio. Non-stereo Bluetooth just sends one channel, so you can talk and listen to a caller's voice using a Bluetooth earpiece that only fits into one of your ears. Stereo Bluetooth sends both left and... With California going hands-free next month (on July 1st), San Diego-based LG is giving away 1,000 Bluetooth earpieces at the Peterson Automotive Museum (catch the relevance?) in Los Angeles (tomorrow) on June 19th beginning at 11 a.m. to ensure safe drivers will abound on the parking lot that is the 405.
And, yes, of course they will be partnering with the Ponch (Erik Estrada), an apparently tireless supporter of law enforcement, who will... I'm generally not one for Stereo Bluetooth. I use my phone as a music
player all the time, but prefer wired headphones to wireless since they
generally sound a lot) better and also don't require recharging.
Granted, that limits me to phones that have standard size headphone
jacks (since I'm a giant snob and use fancy earphones and not the
garbage that comes with musicphones) but it's worth it.Sony
Ericsson sent me a Stereo... My new favorite gadget, the EGO CUP from Funkwerk Americas, lets you convert your cup holder into a Bluetooth hands-free car kit with a sleek and inconspicuous design.
While I loved the ergonomic style, I was a little concerned that no one would be able to hear me since every other device I have tested has either been an earpiece or clipped to the visor. I was pleasantly surprised. The EGO CUP is a simple plug-n-play solution with great call... Unlike the majority of my family and friends, my car did not come fully equipped with built in hands free Bluetooth compatibility to allow me to talk on my mobile while driving with my hands at 10 and 2. This really wasn't a problem for me until California passed the hands-free law, and now, I can't drive and talk with the phone up to my ear. I tried getting used to the Bluetooth headset and just couldn't do it. Although the Samsung WEP420... When it comes to Bluetooth earpieces, I think less is definitely more. You'll never catch me walking around town with a Bluetooth clipped to my ear unless I'm actually talking on the thing. No offense to you folks who keep your earpiece welded to your head, but that's just not me - I can't stand the look or feel of keeping a headset clamped to my ear.
That's why I like Samsung's WEP 500 Bluetooth earpiece so much. Well,... Jabra aimed for the best of both worlds with their BT8010 Bluetooth headset. On the one hand, it's a relatively compact mono earpiece with an LED display and large clickable scroll wheel so you can scroll through your recent calls and contacts list and place/receive calls and adjust the volume without having to reach for your handset. The BT8010 even has a vibrating alert function if you're into things buzzing against your ear and... This could be lame or it could be a pretty handy bit of innovation for all you "I love my Bluetooth but I'm always losing it" types. Phone Arena has pics and details on the LG VX8610, a Verizon-branded slider phone with a removable Bluetooth earpiece that snaps in and out of a slot on the back of the handset. You know VZW is going to give it some weird name like "Listener" or "Trekker" (or "Vanilla"? you know, like Chocolate?),... Sony Ericsson is holding a big to-do in Berlin Thursday June 14th to announce ... something(s). While the conventional logic of the rumor mill -- if there is such a thing -- is banking on at least three new handsets, the latest is that SE will unveil some new Bluetooth watches along with or instead of the new phones. The official invitation (see below) says phones and accessories for sure, so watches are certainly a possibliity.... HTC has done an excellent job in adding small programs to their new devices that the Windows Mobile OS is usually missing… for example task manager that actually closes the program when you press “X” and not leave it running in the background.
